Hummingbird Feeder 10 oz [Set of 2] Plastic Feeders for Outdoors, with Built-in Ant Guard - Circular Perch with 5 Feeding Ports - Wide Mouth for Easy Filling/2 Part Base for Easy Cleaning

We've been feeding the hummers for 40 years. These feeders are quite nice and the little hummers love them. Our old PP brand had worn out parts and replacement parts are no longer available (we bought them for years). I bought the single plastic bottle version first then added this pair with glass bottles. These do not leak! They are a little tricky to take apart the base and put it back together but easy once you get used to it. If the base pieces are not properly fitted together, it will definitely leak. The trick is not to press one side down all the way; rather, press together a little working around until it's all firmly seated. To take apart, place your thumb in the middle and lit an edge, working around. The plastic is tough and has a slick, hard finish that makes it easy to clean. The flower feeders press out and back in, also easy to clean. I found an article that said the PP bee guards fit on these, which they do by inserting the flower tube up from the bottom. But completely unnecessary as the long tubes in the flowers are much too long for a bee to feed. Have not had any trouble with bees using these.

Had so much fun with these this last summer, brought much enjoyment. Plus we gained a lot of knowledge as we would research the different humming birds we would see. Easy to make your own nectar and watch these amazing birds. The ant guards worked as designed, and were easy to clean. There appearance we great and fit perfecting hanging from our eve's in front of windows. Yes, you have to be a bit creative in hanging these, but well worth it.

I like it because it's easy to clean. I just use a bottle brush and it's done in 2 minutes. The perches for the hummingbirds are sturdy and the flowers are attached to the base, so you don't have to clean them out constantly. It doesn't drip and the bright design drew 3 hummingbirds to the feeder within 5 minutes. It's also easy to prime, which is a huge bonus. I've bought 3 or 4 feeders that just don't work properly. Once the level of nectar dropped there was an air gap and it didn't work anymore. This one works very well. The birds emptied it in an afternoon. It's 10 ounces but that's' good in a hot climate like Houston. I'd rather clean it every day than have a huge reservoir on the feeder. Edit: I've just gone back and ordered the second feeder in 24 hours. It's a good price for a good feeder.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: Although this is a well made unit, it has features that will eventually cause it to break down. Since it is made of plastic. it will not break from a fall but UV rays will make it fail, also mold will be more likely to grow and be hard to clean as opposed to glass that cleans easily and can be sterilized. If you do not mind those issues, it is an attractive replica of my beloved glass unit. I need to get more of them since I have too many birds in the area and they are quite thirsty and territorial.

*****UPDATED 10/22/25: Seller made it right and I received a refund! Likely these were damaged in shipping, because they have always been a quality product before this. I will buy from again and highly recommend!***** I really wanted to love these feeders, they are my go to feeders when it's time to buy new ones, but these were not as good quality as expected. My problem is with the base and the feeder perches. The base had a crack in it where the water leaks out, and the feeder perches are a weird design where they are on hinges and the connection broke, so the perch doesn't work. I like the feeders that have fixed, hard plastic perches, not easily breakable. What I do love about these feeders is the capacity, the fact they're glass and easy to clean, easy to hang & hang securely, at a great price point for two feeders, and they definitely attract hummingbirds. But if the perches break off and there are cracks in the base, they're virtually useless. Disappointing!

It is very solid. The perches are big enough there feet won't get stuck. It is made of very solid plastic That means birds will not be getting any plastic partials. The flowers are softer and the hole for feeding is big enough beak won't get stuck. The feeder is perfect. But the only thing - is the base comes apart for cleaning and that is kinda tough. I am sure it will get better with use but till than I am going to coat the seam with vegetable oil. Still I am very happy and would buy again. Note I already got 1 that was junk and cost more, This is much better and I got 2 for less. OK, 3rd day with home made feed. Day 2 and 3 I already had a pair of humming bird. OK I have had it some time now but was not able to separate the base for cleaning. I asked and they said it twists apart. Today I found out it does not. With base apart, look at center of fill. There's kind of a button. Push on it while holding top it will pop apart. It is a compression fit and will snap back together.

Easy to put together. Size of the glass bottle is perfect. Easy to clean once I figured out what the piece of red plastic in the bottle was for. Hummingbirds love it.
