I got this to make candy and it's really easy to use. I even use it for baking. Great product. I have no issues so far.

I purchased this unit when the price dropped and was featured on YouTube Den of Tools. I did not need it but I could not resist the low price. I have a significantly more expensive unit so thought it would be fun to test them side by side. Impressively, this guy provided very similar result, only a few tenths of a degree at higher temperatures. This is a good home unit for a reasonable price which I ended up giving to my son-in-law. Most folks do not realise how handy these are until they have one so this is a great gift for a hard to buy for dude.

I love this thing. I bought it both to help with cooking as well as help with TV repair diagnosis. I haven't done much cooking yet, but a TV's mainboard was cooking, and this helped me diagnose the seemingly sporadic problem! Works great to test temperatures on electronic components. Reads a specific point with good accuracy. Get one!

The LCD readout is not backlit so it is very hard to read. Since it is hard to read I can' t give it high marks. Also the calibration isn't real good. Book says allow to adjust to ambient temp. So you can't walk out of a 50 degree garage to a 30 degree driveway and expect the temp to be correct unless you stand around in the cold for ten minutes waiting for it to adjust.

I was so stressed because my current cooking thermometer is not very easy to use. Thermometer is especially necessary for fried food cooking. However, it is not only for cooking, but also for measuring the ceiling temperature in each room and noticing uneven temperatures in the room. I think I bought a very good product.

Works perfectly! Big, bright display, precise readings, and feels solid in hand. Ideal for our pizza oven - makes life much easier.

I use an IR thermometer in the kitchen to know frying pan temperatures and in the workshop to know metal surface temperatures for aluminum braising. My old thermometer could only measure to 950F. This one reads up to 1450F so more latitude. It is also much smaller than my old one which is appreciated. It also has a probe which might come in handy sometime. It works fast and is easy to set up. It arrived promptly after ordering in perfect condition in commercial packaging. Good price.
