Money saver!
I use rubber mulch year-round, and only use this once every three or four years to re-spray. It works beautifully and soaks into the rubber. It usually takes about four years to start fading and that is when I reapply. It’s definitely a money saver!

Great stuff
I had read some reviews that said this stuff clogged up their sprayer. The instructions say 2 to 5 oz per gallon (4 to 10 measured Tbsp's). I used 5 Tbsp's. And I shook it up alot. At first the spray was coming very slowly and would just stop altogether after a few minutes. I was thinking this was gonna take forever to cover everything. And I ended up taking apart the sprayer 3 times to clean it which was messy and frustrating. Then finally somehow I realized that I needed to press very hard on the sprayer button to get the spray coming out with good pressure. Once I discovered this I was able to really cover a large area pretty quickly. So I would say that often the problem is the sprayer. These $10 pump sprayers are often unreliable and always fail after any liquid is left in the sprayer for some time. Now I always empty out the sprayer after each use. Also, the water from my hose which I used with the mulch dye was very warm which probably helps the dye to mix well. But like I said, once I found that pressing hard on the button got the spray coming out nicely I completed the job pretty quickly and was amazed by the results. This stuff really does make the mulch look new again and the color is an exact match. I only used half the max strength recommended. And the instructions suggest going back over it 2 or 3 times a few minutes after each pass. But I just did one pass and thats all it needed to make it new again. And the mulch was pretty worn out. I think it was 15 months since it was last replenished. Every year for the last 10 years I would buy 20 bags just to make it look new again. I used about one quater of the bottle to cover the area. So I estimate that this bottle will last me 4 years, covering the equivelant of 80 bags of mulch. Mulch was currently $3 a bag at HomeDepot, though we have another garden center here in FL selling $2.25 a bag. So for 80 bags would cost $200 to $250 with tax. This dye costs $25, so great bang for your buck. And its saving you some work too of loading, unloading and spreading bags of mulch. Spray the mulch and cleaning the sprayer can also take some time I dont think its quite as much work as the mulch bags, so long your sprayer is working good. I would test out your sprayer before use with just water to make sure its working good before using the dye. Great stuff.

Looks great from a distance!
Works great! Mixed about a gallon to spray about 300sqft of mulch. Now, it doesn't look like new, but it looks a heck of a lot better. It mixes easy and sprays just as easy. I didn't have any problem with over spray, but I was pretty careful. The color looked just like it did about 4 months ago. I'll update this when it has had a chance to weather for a few months and I'll report my longevity results. If it lasts 2 months I'll be happy since the original mulch color only lasted 4. My concern is that the dye only penetrated the exposed surface so if the mulch is disturbed the weathered mulch will again be on top. I did color the roots of an oak tree that were in the flower bed to use as a control because I know the roots won't be turned over by the squirrels. UPDATE - It's been a three months now and the coloring has held up fairly well. I did respray just to 'freshen' up the look. It looks great for about three weeks after spraying then slowly starts to fade in the Florida sun. It doesn't seem to wash off or bleed though. The roots I sprayed had the same overall effect of fading but fared slightly better than the rest of the flower bed.

Only helps when no color is left at all
Doesn't keep a rich color for long. Applied 4 or 5 times and still a dull faded color but it did add color. Bought new mulch and what a difference in color

Refreshed
Wonderful, worked so well the first time I purchased again. Coloring is easy to use, with given directions and lmrefreshed our mulch that was faded from the sun.

Perfect
Works exactly as expected. Instructions and warnings are accurate. When first applied it is a bright orange but as it dries it (quickly) becomes the expected dark red color. It will be interesting to see how long it lasts before needing to be reapplied. But it definitely freshened up the flower beds and has the pine straw looking brand new again.
