Critter Gitter - Animal Repeller with Alarm and Flashing Device

We have several cabins in a fairly remote area, bears were continually breaking in. Spent half of every week-end cleaning up the mess and damage. Found these critter gitters, and no more bears.. We nail them to a tree about ten feet from the cabin.. on all four sides.. and about at the four foot level, so that little critters like squirrels, etc. don' t set them off. When we leave the cabin..we activate the alarm, when we come back the following week, we turn it off while we are there. In the fall when we leave for the winter, we change the 9 volt battery.. which will last till the next spring, we change it again in the spring. These worked great. Have many friends who were also consistently bothered by bear break-. ins...we gave them one of these, and they were so pleased with the results , they bought several more. Personally, I would not use them for little harmless critters, they would be set off too frequently.also, we have a business with a large fenced yard.. have lots of pricey security alarms.. cameras etc. But a couple of these nasty noise makers, will scare anyone away before the camera can take a picture.Another possible use, if you are leaving your home for a time, you can leave one on inside.. if someone brekas in while you are gone, they will probably think the police and fire dept are on the way.

I REALLY LIKE THIS PRODUCT, SO MUCH SO, I BOUGHT TWO OF THEM. ITS A GREAT ANIMAL ALARM, IT SOUNDS OFF THE MINUTE IT SENSES MOTION, ITS THAT GOOD, I CAN ADJUST THE VOLUME,HIGH ARE LOW. I LOVE IT. I WOULD ENCOURAGE ANY ONE THATS LOOKING FOR AN ANIMAL ALERT, TO BUY THE GRITTER GITTER. ITS WORTH THE MONEY.

Worked just fine but would not turn off once it was set off. It would go for hours at a time. I had to go into field and shut it off for some hours.

This repeller is better than I expected . Keeping bears away from my property

Useless for my purposes, but maybe not for yours. If you expect to use it outside, note that it can't be pointing anywhere near leaves or other vegetation, or it will alarm at every gust of wind.And the rain guard is a plastic bag. Once you turn the alarm on and off a couple of times, considering how difficult it is to manage that, you'll wear a hole through the bag where the water can get in. (And you WILL have to turn it on and off, since they have a tendency to keep alarming unless shut off manually.)Actually, I'm not impressed with the item at all. Not only is the switch small and hard to use, especially through the bag, but there's no easy way to fasten the device to anything. You'd think that would be an obvious design decision.But I bought a couple of them to try to keep the squirrels out of my fruit trees, and they're really useless for that. For one thing, the squirrels never set them off. I do, and so do cars driving down my alley at the other end of the yard, but the squirrels are all over the place right by these gadgets, and they've only set off the alarm ONCE. And they completely ignored it then.Sorry, but I really can't say anything positive about this item. It might work for you, but this was a complete waste of money for me.

Seemed to be working well the first month or so, keeping the geese off of my new dock, but yesterday we found some evidence the geese were there again. Not sure if the geese are starting to ignore it, or if it is not working as well at night. It is working properly when we test it at night. I'll update once we get a chance to check it again. Update Feb 4, 2018 alarm is working well. Still running on the first 9 volt battery, and keeping the critters off the dock, even in the cold of winter. Great product. Buying another one for up by the house.

Worked like a charm to scare and keep away a curious black bear

Ever since I purchased these critter gitters I have had no problems with destructive black bears. They work great!
