The Xbox 360 Rock Band 2 Standalone Guitar features an auto-calibration sensor for easy syncing with any TV, a sturdier strum bar for enhanced precision, faster and quieter fret buttons, an extra set of fret buttons for advanced play, and a retooled tilt sensor for optimal overdrive deployment.

Xbox 360 Rock Band 2 Standalone Guitar
I shopped for this standalone guitar through the Rockband.com website and it processed the purchase through Amazon. My only disappointment throughout the process was the photograph of the guitar shown on the Rockband store site was of a different color than what was received. The image shown on the Amazon site was of a box instead of the guitar. I understood the guitar was the same design as the guitar that is bundled with the Rockband bundle but was expecting a different color. Aside from that disappointment, I am very pleased with the guitar and it is identical to the guitar we got with the game.

Pretty Good
I wanted to use this for Rock Band 3 because well, the new guitar looks like the old one from Rock Band 1, which sucks. But at least i found this one still available and it works perfectly! I recommend this over any other guitar Rock Band offers.

Excellent, transparent service replacement policy. Somewhat disappointing build quality.
First thing I should mention is that as far as tactile feedback is concerned, I prefer the Rock Band Guitar peripheral to the Guitar Hero alternatives. I've always hated that obnoxious clicking sound that the Guitar Hero guitar controllers made. That said, build quality seems to have gone down as this portion of the rhythm has evolved, which is a tragic reality of planned obsolescence. Often the 'strum bar' will break down with moderate use after less than a year, becoming unresponsive in one direction or the other (i.e. 'up', stops working). The internal gyro which detects controller movement, which triggers the Overdrive feature in Rock Band and Star Power in Guitar Hero also breaks down over time, becoming unreliable. Finally, the fret buttons eventually begin to become unresponsive as well. I can tell you that I played my original Guitar Hero controller for more than a year (sometimes with less than tender care) and it still works perfectly. Overall, because it is freely replaceable, it is hard to ding it too harshly for these shortcomings, but it still represents a sorrowful trend of declining build quality.

Waste of Money!!
Terrible used condition. The yellow button doesn't even work. Was Packaged very poorly, came in a beat up Home Depot box and it wasn't even fully in the box to top it off. Waste of Money!!

Wireless = awesome
It's awesome. I had to calibrate it with the game because you will miss notes at first. After calibration it worked great! Rockband 2 is fun, but there needs to be more achievements that you can reach on single player.

360 Guitar
I recently purchased an Xbox 360 standalone Guitar from MTV Games. The box it came it looked like it had been detained, beaten and subject to a series of humiliating positions. The result was a guitar with a bit of damage which failed to turn on or show any signs of life. Do not recommend.
