I use a Ubiquiti UDM Pro as an NVR and this drive was plug and play. The UDM Pro recognized it immediately, formatted and my cameras were able to record. No issues so far.

Very reliable drive, I use these with the Ubiquiti Dream Machine, they come in different storage capacity, 10 Terabytes is what the website recommends for the Dream Machine that is why I got this one. They are very easy to use and come with no formatting from the factory. I also have 2 of these drives as storage drives on my computer and so far it has not ran very hot meaning that they can be air cooled without any issues. Great value for the money spent

I have a Unifi setup, with 4 WiFi cameras. I was using the Cloud Key Gen 2+ with the 1Tb included HD, but I was having alot of issues with pulling up footage, live views, lagging, etc, on the gen2+. But now I upgraded my setup to a Dream Machine Pro SE, with a Unifi WiFi 6 Pro Access Point, with this 12TB WD surveillance drive, and it works FLAWLESSLY! Make sure you buy a surveillance grade HD, other HDs like for a PC gamer build, they will fail within a few months, believe me, it’s happened to me. I get 120 days of continuous storage with my 4 WiFi cameras. All my issues were resolved! No lag, scrubbing is smooth and easy, live views on my local WiFi and on 5G on my iPhone using the Unifi protect app all work great now! It’s a FAR more reliable setup and I would encourage anyone who wants to use Unifi to go this route for your home security cameras.

Purchased to install in new computer running Blue Iris 5 Surveillance Software. Writes fast. Good Price for an 8TB Surveillance Drive. You can certainly hear it when it's writing to the drive, but not so loud as to be an annoyance. Would have preferred PCIe Gen5 NVMe M.2 SSD, but that would have broke the bank for 8TB! It's only being used for Achieved clips of footage.

I never buy WD disks , Disk not even initilise to format, very bad disks form WD and brand new one

Works well, but this is the loudest HD I've owned. I needed to move my surveillance computer into a spare room with the door closed.

Ordered a Network Video Recorder without the HD because of the price the vendor wanted. I saved about $30 on this and got free shipping. It didn't have mounting screws but, I had plenty of extras. It was easy to mount to the bottom screw holes. You can capture a lot of video with 10TB of storage capacity. I like the SATA III speed. This drive is also designed with a 512MB cache which is nice. It has a spin rate of 7200RPM so this is a well designed drive. It is a good alue for the money and I will not hesitate to buy another one.

I've been running this writing video footage non-stop for almost 18 months from multiple cameras out of a UnFi Dream Machine. It's working great - not much more to say!

Reliable item for a good value. Used in professional CCTV system, and i have no issue with it whatsoever for now.
