I had an old channel master that got smashed by tree. It was great, tried 2 new style antennas from China. Weak signals going in and out. Bought this. Went together perfect. Very light for the size. Albany is 60 miles away. Old c.m. had 18 channel. Chi ant's 4-9 channels poor reception. This gets 31 channels. Other antennas worked ok at night with clear sky. This doesnt matter. Noon I still get all the stations. Just like cable, most are b.s. lol. I get cbs, nbc, abc, wb, me, h&i, movie ,etc and 4 pbs channels. Best antenna ever.

I am located in a very wooded, rural setting, and surrounded by tall trees. I've tried your basic $19.95 antenna, which would get me 3 or 4 channels (if I was lucky on a good, clear day), up to the $89.95 antennas, and got around 14 channels. With this antenna, I get no less than 30 channels, and with a little rotating of this antenna, I get over 80 channels. It was relatively easy to assemble and I was able to install it by myself. (After 3 years of trying different antennas, I have found my "forever" antenna). This thing works fantastic for me, and if you are in a rural setting, this one seems to do the best job pulling in from longer distances, even with tall tree obstructions.

Easy Assembly and picks up stations 60+ miles away in mountainous terrain very well. Not designed to pickup low VHF r FM radio. That is the 8200 model and much larger. But this does a fantastic job in chalkengin terrain.However, it ships in a box with no bubble wrap or popcorn to protect the antenna from damage. I ordered multiple times and it kept arriving damaged but Wineguard wil make it right if Amazon doesn't. My biggest gripe is the diameter of the aluminum wire that connects the two sections and carries the signal. It is very THIN and BRITTLE s aluminum is. That diameter should be twice as big to ensure no breakage. But it does do the job but don't know how ling that smaller diameter wire wil last.My 30 year old RCA long distance antenna that cost $20 back then had an aluminum signal wire twice as thick as what came on the Wineguard.

For over the air TV, this is high quality antenna. Works as designed and noticed an sharper picture when installed. It's large, best for two men to install. Works well with preamp. Durable. Held up to a rough winter. Very little signal fade. Needs to be aimed at the stations you want. With the high gain it has, aiming Needs to be pretty much dead on, for I'm 50 miles away. Of course, it does not pick up stations on the back side. Worth the cost, still cheaper than cable. Good buy.

I am very pleased with the quality of this antenna. I purchased this antenna to replace another one that had poor reception. The reviews on this antenna said people found it to work well even when the home is down in a valley. That is exactly my situation and with this antenna I can now access broadcast stations over 50 miles away, even with hills and valleys between my home and the transmitting tower.

Works great but they took forever to ship this product so of course it was late. Don't trust Amazon on the date's product will be received by.

This antenna is just what I needed, the range is accurate! After I installed and mounted on the roof, I was able to scan 54 channels, a few of which I had been missing since my 25 yr old faithful antenna died on me. I have not even rotated the antenna yet, just set the director end toward the general area that I needed. I could not believe the channels that I was able to get. I live in the woods, so trees all around me, and about 40 miles from the city. I am impressed, it is nice to get all my favorite local channels once again. The only problem I had was getting it up in the air due to the size, it would be easier with 2 people, but I made it work. I am a fan of this awesome antenna! This thing rocks!! Thanks Winegard!

It's wonderful reception BUT seems this particular unit had some construction problems I needed to overcome: halves didn't fit together easily, one element was upside-down, in other words- for company well-known about it's technology, I wondered if the workers were on strike! oh well, design is good, for an apartment building. [with amps and splitters] Sincerely hope this was just a one-off.
