These are Great and Keep My Hat in Place
I bought these for my cowboy hat when I ride my golfcart. The Florida sun is very strong and I need to wear the hat during the day when I'm out on my golfcart. These are perfect! They easily fit onto my hat and keep it in place no matter how windy it gets. Easily adjustable and comfortable.

Works but cotter pins are gigantic
I was tempted to give this 3 stars but decided the product does its job so I shouldn’t be so harsh. My issues are that the cotter pin is enormous. My husband crimped it to get it through the holes in my hat and even then, he had to pull them through with pliers. My hat does not have an inner hatband so the unattractive cotter pins are visible on the outside (my fault for not checking my hat). The string is thick which I like but it’s really long. Leaving it for now but I may clip it if it drives me crazy. I also wish the cord came in different colors. My hat is off white and the black cord looks pretty bad. Again, the cord works fine. Just don’t like the color, the length and the fat cotter pins.

Hats on!
Recently I acquired a new hat without a lanyard and because it is lightweight the wind was trying to blow it off my head! This cord is the solution. I needed to use an awl to poke a hole through the tight weave of the hat to attach the cord, once I did that it was easy to attach and now I can wear my hat on windy days! There’s two cords in the package, they’re so well made I can give the second one to a friend as I know the first one will last for years to come.
