Q: We're only looking to buy this as a screen with Ring but don't want kids to have access when we're not around. Can access be restricted?

I don’t think you can restrict access to individual people, as anyone that talks to her will get a response. I bought mine for a ring doorbell and it works perfectly, the response time is within a few seconds and you can talk and listen to whoever is at the door. No more parcels being put in obscure places, you can now tell them where you want them put. To get back to your question, To restrict anyone using it whilst your away, just disconnect it and put it somewhere, then reconnect when you get home. You won’t need to set it all up again, as we take ours away on holiday, and never have a problem with it reconnecting to the home Wi-Fi, and have it up and running again in a minute or so. Just a thought. I hope this help, buy now while it’s cheap!

Q: Does this work with the ring door bell?

Yes I've not used it with the ring doorbell but from what I've seen it works.

Q: When it says wired by amazon, does it mean they install it?

I really don’t know what that means. From a personal perspective, I self I say.led, it’s as easy to set up as a normal Alexa, just find your WI-FI connection and it pretty much does the rest for you.Hope that helps.
