Hoover Steam Mop TwinTank Steam Cleaner WH20200, blue

I was not in any way planning on buying anything other than a Shark steam mop. I already owned a Shark steam mop for the last five years and when it finally went kaput, I was planning on buying another Shark. When I looked for my mop (now called a Euromop), Shark only really offered a new version with the double padded sides. I really wasn't interested in buying new pads and everything, I was happy with my old mop and just wanted a new one exactly like it. My sister mentioned she had just bought the Hoover twink tank, so I looked it up on Amazon and it seemed to have much better reviews than the new Shark. I wasn't crazy about buying Hoover, I had Hoover vaccumm cleaners in the past and they rarely lasted a full year before they fell apart. I liked Shark because of the long manufacturers warrenty, and the prooven quality since I owned a Shark steam mop AND vaccumm cleaner and they lasted me many years. I decided for the price, it was worth trying the Hoover twin tank. I'm glad I did! It came with three pads, which was great, I had no need to order separate pads to have extras around. I've had my Hoover twin tank for six months now. I use it on Pergo flooring. It works better than my old Shark mop, the steam is more powerful. This is why it has a trigger on it. I was a little put off by having to hold a trigger the entire time (Shark doesn't have that feature), but in the end I realized that it was great to have, it doesn't take much effort to hold the trigger the entire time, but it helps prevent over steaming some spots on floors that can't get too wet or too much steam in the seams. I also like that you can use your own solution in the tank, although with Pergo the only thing that is safe to use is Vinegar, anything with soap in it will cloud the floor and just sit on top like a residue. The vinegar helps break through any build up of other products while making the floors squeaky clean. The solution tank tends to let out a lot of cleaner even on the lowest setting, so I water down the vinegar solution in the solution tank. Another pro was the cord on the Hoover is a tad longer than the Shark, so I didn't have to unplug it in order to do my entire first floor. The pads wash up great, I've been told with microfiber it shouldn't be washed with any fabric softner, it causes a build up and makes them less absorbent. Otherwise, they was up great. I'm glad I made the switch, the true test will be if this product lasts several years like my Shark did!

I got my Hoover TT in last night. It is lightweight and VERY easy to assemble. The microfiber pads go on very easily, are easy to remove and easy to wash. After cleaning, I sprayed mine out clean in my sink. Worked great. Upon powering, the unit heated up ready for use very quickly. I did a steam only clean on my kitchen linoleum floor and it worked beautifully. I couldn't believe how much dirt I washed out of that pad afterwards! The unit is pretty quiet and only makes a light humming or "shhhhhh" type of sound while steaming. While steaming, the unit did wet my floors, but it was a medium amount of moisture. My floors were not soaking wet which I consider a good thing. They dried very quickly. I did a test strip on my hardwood (sealed) and it seemed to do beautifully on those also. I will continue to use and update later. So far, very pleased! Update 3/24/14: I still really love the way this mop cleans my floors. It is easy to use and does an excellent job. Using water only on my hardwood did seem to leave a film/fog so I have begun adding in some vinegar and that does the trick. The only thing I have noticed that I do not like is that if I store the unit with water in the tank, some of it leaks out. Fortunately, I always sit the mop in the pan that comes with it so at least it's not leaking into my floor. I'm going to do a bit of research to see if this is a common issue. Otherwise, I'll just have to remember to empty the tank after each use, which I should probably do anyway. Still a great machine.

We live on a farm with three dogs and the muddy pawprints from the kitchen entrance are always hard to keep up with in wet/snowy weather. I usually end up doing a major floor moping weekly and spot swiffering as needed. What I don't like about doing that, however, is the streaking that the floor cleaners leave behind. This steam mop worked wonderfully! I started out by running the sweeper first to remove the large particles and fur. I had just Swiffered a few days previously, so the steam mop didn't have a lot of ground in dirt to deal with, but it had been raining for four days straight and the yard was a mess. Needless to say, the traffic areas on the laminate flooring were covered in little trails of puppy prints. A perfect time to test the new Hoover! The TwinTank assembled in a snap...literally about five minutes to snap the handle on and read the instructions and you are ready to go. I followed the advice of some earlier reviewers and washed the reusable mop pads prior to using them so they would be more absorbent. Also, I ditched the idea of using the included cleaning solution since many others had remarked on how much it streaked and left a residue. I plan on just using some diluted white vinegar in the second tank when I need to deep clean in the future. For now, I just set the dial to "steam only", turned on the device, and was ready to mop in just a couple of minutes. The TwinTank was easy to manuver and started steaming away as soon as I pulled the trigger. I steam mopped about 500 sq. feet of flooring in just under 15 minutes. As soon as the mop pad on the bottom was well saturated, about two minutes into cleaning, the mop began to glide more smoothly across the floor. It lifted the prints from the floor with just a couple of sweeps of the mop head while exerting gentle, even pressure. It left behind a clean surface and just a small amount of water that dried quickly. As a matter of fact, the area where I started mopping was completly dry as I was finishing the last section in the laundry room. Best of all...NO STREAKS! One small flaw, however, is the placement of the on/off trigger. You have to exert pressure on the switch the entire time you want to produce steam and the trigger is placed on the handle so you use your forefinger to pull it. It is not terribly uncomfortable, but I did have to switch hands a few times to give my finger a break. Not so much a deterrant to me, but someone with arthritis or other joint/hand ailment might find this to be a deal breaker. Overall, pleased with my purchase and looking forward to using this timesaver again and again.

EDITED 12/28/16: I regret my purchase. I've now used the mop 6-7 times, and I feel like a Swiffer mop would be equally or more effective. If the mist emerging from this mop it steam, I'll eat my hat. It looks and feels more like mist from a humidifier. It is warm, but not hot, and does not leave the floor warm. This results in a very wet floor, making it unsuitable for wood floors. If I could return it I would. I'll be purchasing a new Shark steamer.************************** I purchased this to replace a Shark Lite & Easy Steam Mop which stopped producing steam. Thus far, I've used it 3 times. It produces a lot of steam, and quickly. My first project was an old vinyl floor, off-white, in an 80s tile pattern. It took some scrubbing, but using only steam, the floor is an amazing 2 shades lighter. The second project was cleaning my new vinyl plank floor. It cleaned pretty well, but required some vigorous mopping to get dirt out of the faux wood grain in the floor. Third project was steaming a new area rug to relax the fibers and help the fold marks fade. Steaming seemed to make no difference for this task. The mop pads are thin with a terry-like low pile. The pads do not move smoothly over the floor, which made mopping a bit of a chore. I think the thicker, longer-knapped pads from the Shark worked better, so I will try and find something similar for this mop. This mop includes a second tank for a cleaning solution. One reason I wanted a steam mop is to avoid the need for a cleaner. I might try using white vinegar in this tank, but for now I am just using plain water. A drawback is the steam is emitted from one vent in the center of the mop. I would prefer if there were more vents. It also leaves the floor far wetter The mop includes a filter to prevent mineralization clogging the steam vents. I hope this works; time will tell. The jury is still out for me on this mop. The construction feels studier than the Shark, but unless it lasts far longer, I think the Shark would be my first choice.

Bought this steam mop on January 2013, and it died late 2014 (August-ish?). The part that broke on me is the part where the head of the mop connects to the body of the mop. It seems like it is very brittle plastic there, and it is unable to take the constant abuse from the weight of the system as well as the stress from friction caused when mopping. It first started off as a small broken plastic piece I found on the floor after mopping, and it slowly start disintegrating over time. It is now no longer able to stand without leaning against a wall or counter, and it no longer able to mop the floor. With all this being said....I am going to be buying another one, and here is the reason why: I have owned numerous floor cleaning products and steam mops, and this mop does do a wonderful job. It is easy to maneuver, is not too heavy, and has a nice long cord. The dual tank system is also great for when you want your floors smelling nice or need that extra cleaning power. The refills are not too expensive either, nor are the microfiber cloths. This time, I will be seeing if there is a way to reinforce the part connecting the mop head to the body so I do not encounter this problem again. I am thinking of buying a PVC pipe that would fit over that piece, cutting it in half, putting some sort of bonding putty or rubber on the inside, and using a pipe clamp to clamp it onto the part that needs reinforcing. I am hoping this works, but if it lasts a little over a year again for me, I would still be happy. Originally purchased this mop at $100.00 through Amazon, and now I see they have decreased in price to a little over $80.00. It is also fair to say that every steam mop I have owned has been broken in about the same time frame aside from the Shark steam mop I had which I believe was the original Shark steam mop to release many years ago that lasted me about 3 years before the coil died on me. I do hope that Hoover will somehow strengthen that part of the mop, but until then, I will see how my idea holds. Other than the weak part on the mop, I think this is a great steam mop.

I ordered this steam mop just a little while after my Shark suddenly refused to heat at all, right in the middle of cleaning my floor. When I unboxed the Hoover, I was immediately pleased by the fact that is felt so much less toylike than my old steam mop. It had a decent heft to it, but not so much that I would get all worn out by using it. After reading the instructions, I filled the water tank and fired it up. I chose not to use the cleaning solution, as I've heard that in some cases, floors can become filmy when it is used. I also prefer absolutely no scent at all on my floors. The ready light came on very quickly, but for some reason pressing the trigger gave no steam. After playing with the trigger for a little while, it finally did start up and gave out a good volume of nice hot steam. I think the delay was due to the little water filter inside being new and dry and taking just a moment to get water to the pump and heater. The week before I used this machine, I had hand-scrubbed a large section of linoleum under our breakfast table and then used my silly Shark mop afterward. I had to do it like that since the Shark never would truly clean the floor on its own. See what a joke it was? For the Hoover, I re-cleaned where I had previously worked, and that was fine. Then I posed the real challenge of cleaning the kitchen floor, which hadn't been done in an embarrassingly long time. With constant use. And three kids. This Hoover did it in a single pass. Never would my old mop have been able to do that. Not even close. All it took was a quick sweep with a Swiffer and then steam it with the Hoover. I've never been more impressed with a steam mop before. Some people talk about the trigger being difficult and tiring to press. Nope. I had no problems at all. My advice is not to just use your index finger on the trigger. Instead, choke up a little on the handle and use your index and middle finger on the trigger at the same time. Easy-peasy. No hand cramps, no problem. I'd recommend this mop to my friends and shout about it from my front door at passersby in my neighborhood, but I'm sure I'd get some strange looks. One final note... Some reviews here are from people who got a free TwinTank from Hoover. I didn't get a free one. Bought this baby myself and put it to use literally as soon as I got it out of the box it was delivered in. Amazon Prime even had it delivered on Saturday morning from a Thursday night order (love my Amazon Prime!). This mop is worth every penny. I was done with the whole bottom floor of my house in about 30 minutes. All I can say is wow. I'm VERY tough to please about cleaning products, and I'm over the moon with this one. Looking forward to many years of great looking floors thanks to Hoover! So I bought it, I paid for it, and you KNOW my opinions are my own. Don't even look at other steam mops. You'll be wasting your time and money. Just get the Hoover and be amazed at what a great job it does.

I'm addicted to cleaning-I never feel as though my house is ever really clean though I'm only cleaning. I have 2 large dogs no yard and I always have a 3rd foster dog coming and going. I've been reviewing Hard wood floor steam cleaners for awhile now and was having a hard time pulling the trigger. This model was purposed to me when I saw it at Home Depot online 24-hour flash sale of 50% a few months back and of course they were out of stock when I finally decided I wanted to buy it. I found it on amazon and though it was not as great of a deal as when Home Depot had the 24 hour flash sale it was still under my $100 budget level. It's a great machine, it feels hardy and solid enough that if i knock into a wall or furniture I won't break any vital parts. It warms up super quick once turned on and the micro fiber pads clean super easily. My only gripe with it would be that they warm to only put their cleaning solution in it, and the one it comes with is only enough to cover about 1K square footage once. I want to know if that warning is just a marketing ploy to get additional sales on products or if it's really the only product you can use(which I doubt is true). It warns me not to use on unfinished floors and I have many pathways that the finish of my bamboo floors have been scuffed off and it still cleans. I highly recommend this product, I have been dealing with the swifter wet jet and traditional mops before the hoover steam mop and they were not removing all the dirt. After I would do two passes I would wipe the ground that was suppose to be clean with a wet paper towel and it would still show dirt, the steam mop is the only thing that has actually cleaned my floor and not just disinfected it. I;m happy it has a cord and I don't need to feed it batteries and the carpet attachment is convenient though there's only few little throw carpets in my house it has down a nice job on those.

** update ** Customer service is very very poor. I was so annoyed with their lack of customer care I wanted to update this review. I am not one to write reviews only to complain. Hoover was supposed to send me a new canister but changed their minds and sent me an email asking for a receipt and proof of purchase. I sent the info, copied my rep on the email and waited. Days passed, I followed up. No response. Weeks passed, I followed up. No response. I am still under warranty. There used to be a time when buying tried and trusted name brands like Hoover use to mean something. It was unacceptable to ignore my followups. Hoover, dont offer customer service, and dont offer warranties if you dont stand by the quality of your products. I had recommended this to family and friends and Hoover had 2 additional purchases because of me. Now, I will look at their competitors - there's just too much competition to take your customers for granted. Sidenote, I am still using it with rubber bands but the solution pump now has stopped working. Gave up on Hoover. *** original **** great in concept, serious design flaw. The good.... it really feels like it cleans the floor, and I swear the first time I used it my floor seemed a shade whiter. I like the triangle mop angle because it can squeeze into tight corners (aka around toilets). The rectangular mop heads are not as flexible. The underbelly solution canister constantly pops off when you are mopping because it faces down. There are two very thin plastic clips that hold it in, but they do not last very long and are very weak for the weight it must hold. Right now, I'm using a thick rubber band to hold it on. *Hoover is replacing the canister for $9 + shipping. I have my own issues with my two customer service calls but did not want it to affect the product review itself. But an example... *one peculiar question the rep asked me when taking my purchase details (name/address/purchase date, etc) was what was my husband's name?. I asked the woman, "you are assuming I am married?" [I am BTW] and then she hung up on me for saying this was an odd question. The second rep I managed to get thrpugh to was much nicer and more professional.

Como siempre, amazon entregando en tiempo y ofreciendo productos de calidad. El producto genera mucho vapor, el cual es suficiente para limpiar el piso. En mi casa el piso es de azulejo y queda muy bien. El cable extra largo es un plus, ya que puedes llegar a cualquier zona. Quita todo el polvo, pero una parte no se queda en la micro fibra, se hace como unas bolitas, que después es fácil de recoger ya sea con escoba o a mano. Lo recomiendo mucho.

This has to be the best mop I have ever used!! Can't say enough great things about this excellent product! Effortless to use, cuts regular mopping time in half because the pad is quite large, and it makes an otherwise not-so-fun chore pretty enjoyable, I must say. Love the long cord, definitely a huge plus. Heats up quick, and is ready to go in probably about 30 seconds. It gets in all the corners, and the house just feels ultra clean after I'm finished. I haven't yet tried the cleaning solution, because the steam-only feature does such a fantastic job. I have noticed that you don't have to squeeze the trigger all the way for steam, just a light press is all you need, and that way there's no hand fatigue. I highly recommend this versatile and well-made mop that'll really make your floors shine! 5 stars all the way!!

I got this machine mainly for my carpets, as an owner of two cats, any wet food spill or hairball vomiting can be quite annoying. I was excited when I received the machine so I aimed at an old hairball spot right away. As the picture demonstrated, before and after, I'd say it did a decent job to clean up (or lighten up) the discolored carpet. However, if you look at a bigger picture, it's a different story. I used it in the high traffic area (i.e staircase, hallway between the bedrooms and bathrooms and etc), the result is rather limited (or, less obvious). From the micro fiber mop I can tell it picked up some dirt, but the carpet itself is still dull. I went ahead to buy different solutions to try, but the result was about the same. Personally I don't think the steam temperature is enough, I tried to touch or step on the area that I just mopped, but really expected the heat would be more substantial. It could be definitely one of the reason that the dirt didn't dissolve or loosen up as in those commercial ads. Also, the machine is on the heavy side for me. Granted it's said to be only 5 kg, but if you need to carry it up and down and move between the staircase, you'll definitely "feel it"! That definitely contributes to the reason that I only use it for maybe 5 times after I purchased it, which is about 14 months ago. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could. And if I can turn back time I believe I'll get another machine instead of this one.

Love this steam mop! I was starting to dread the cleaning of the hardwood floors until this product came along. The old fashioned on your hands and knees with a scrubber and pail of water produced results but was getting more difficult with my advancing age. I took a chance and ordered this electric mop from Amazon and it has indeed been an excellent purchase. The floors sparkle when I'm finished. What used to be a 2 hour job is now done in about 12 minutes including winding the cord. No more sore knees or back. The hardwood hasn't looked this good since it was new. There is a bit of residual moisture left after passing over the hardwood areas but it is 80% evaporated by the time I'm winding up the cord. Why didn't I get one of these sooner?
