My dog loves to go on hikes, which requires us to drive a little ways from the house. Unfortunately, he sometimes gets carsick and throws up in the car, plus he sheds like crazy, so having him in the cab of my truck is not ideal. With the Bushwacker, he can ride in the bed of the truck, and I have complete piece of mind as he is not able to jump out of the truck, even if he wanted to. I just clip this onto his collar, and he's good to go. He loves riding in the back where he can smell all of the smells and get fresh air as we travel to wherever we are going. He can walk around and even put his paws on the side rails, with no chance of him getting out or falling out. I've owned this now for about 2 years now, and I use it multiple times a week. I'm impressed with the quality, I've had no problems with fraying or rust. This is one of the best purchases I've ever made for my pup! I can't recommend it enough.

Easy to hook up and adjust to the truck bed size. Sturdy and reasonably priced

I've seen reviews for this that say it gets loose too easily. Mine did as well. The reason is because the teeth are holding onto the strap and there is one way to pull through that is much easier than the other way. If it is loosening too easily, it will be impossible to tighten without lifting the teeth. You will need to do the following:Take the strap out by lifting the teeth and pulling it out. Take the same strap and put it through the other side of the teeth hole so it is going the opposite direction. This will make it so you can tighten easily but you will need to lift the teeth to loosen it. This will make it so it will not get loose while your dog is pulling on it. Do this for the other side as well if it needs it, which both of mine did.I'm not sure why they send it out assembled like that but I took a star away because a lot of people probably don't check or probably don't know how to fix it and it is dangerous. I hope my case is rare.Other than that, after fixing it, it works great and my dog loves being in my truck bed. I use a harness instead of a collar so it's not pulling on his neck while I drive.

It fits well and allows my pup to get to the side of the bed so I can hook him up, but with the adjusters I can set it so he can't get over the side.

Easy to install and fits as advertised. This product will keep you loved canines safe in the bed of your truck. My dog refuses to get in the cab now. She is living her best doodle life!

The media could not be loaded.  My dog, Andy, loved it. My big ass Rottweiler had never ridden in a car or truck before. I loaded him, hitched him, cut the electric fence off and off we went. He was happier than a pig in mud, looking first one way, then the other. All the while I never had to worry he might jump out because the restraint prevented that. Yet it gave him room to move from side to side in the truck bed and watch. What a change for a fellow locked down on 5 acres of land, to experience that freedom.

If you love to take your dog for rides in the back of the truck.........Buy this tether !! Very well made. Feel much safer than just using leashes and harnesses.... I don't like to see dogs riding in the back of trucks because they usually are not tied up very well. Invest in one of these, rather than hoping your dog won't fall out. I think it may be against the law in some cities. But in Northern California, we can have dogs ride in the back. If you love your dogs, this will keep them from jumping out. It is adjustable and can be made to fit as far as you want your dog to be able to get to the side of the truck. I don't like the dogs to stand on the tire mound, but with this, I know my dog cannot fall out. I have a toyota tacoma and it has large plastic tie downs in the back. So, the hooks are normal size dog hooks and would not allow me to latch them . I just bought 2 metal hooks that would fit on my latches, and then could easily clip on the hook , that is the same size of any medium size leash hook. Great investment and great price !
