Yes it's a fake sheepskin rug but also makes a nice comforting throw.Real sheepskins age lovely but this product is washable so if the baby (or dog) makes a mess on it you just bung it in the washing machine. It's a bit expensive ultimately but really useful.

I was expecting the rug to be a bit more substantial and "fluffier" than it turned out to be. Yes, I did try the hairdryer and brush...didn't make much difference. I wouldn't recommend buying this, there are perhaps better value rugs on the site.
