Pour over coffee brewing effectively gives you control over each step of the coffee making process. With your stainless steel coffee dripper, you can experiment and find that perfect calibration of water and grind for your unique taste. Here are the steps to making pour over coffee (paperless): First, "rinse" the pour over coffee maker with hot water; this serves to preheat the filter before use. Second, dump this water and fill the filter with ground coffee, gently tapping the edges to even the bed. Third, begin a brief stage of pre-infusion: pour about 10% of the total water volume evenly across the coffee, start a timer, and wait 30-45 seconds. This releases gases that build up during roasting, an event seen in the "blooming" of fresh coffee. Fourth and immediately afterwards, continue pouring in a slow, circular, in-and-out motion for about 90 seconds or so. Fifth, continue pouring directly into the middle of the pour over coffee maker, keeping the water level consistent. Shoot for a total brew time of 3:00-3:30. Lastly, remove the filter from the server (cup or pot), dump the grounds, scrub the filter, and serve coffee straight from your server of choice.

Fix the Lauria Pour Over Coffee Dripper when it gets clogged with an air compressor with an air gun attachment!
Fix the Lauria Pour Over Coffee Dripper when it gets clogged with an air compressor with an air gun attachment! The problem is that the coffee grinds get inside the dripper down near the bottom. If you hold it upside-down up toward the light, you can see whether or not it's clogged with coffee grinds. When mine got clogged, it was so slow I couldn't use it anymore, so then my partner just blew those grounds out with an air compressor with an air gun attachment, and Viola! It works exactly like new, super fast!! ~ (Btw, soaking it in vinegar would only help if there was mineral build-up, but this clogging is due to coffee grinds getting stuck, so vinegar won't help.) This really is a great coffee dripper when it isn't clogged!UPDATE: the next time(s) we tried to clear it out with the air gun, it did not work... Dang! This product is basically useless!

Value for the Casual
A great pour-over for anyone in the casual coffee game. Other reviews list some issues, but those are easy to ignore unless you are a perfectionist. I've been using this for a few weeks and I've had no issues. It gets 5 stars for the value, not because it's a life changing piece of equipment. One big plus is that it's fairly easy to clean. If you want perfection, I recommend that you spend the extra money for the premium brands.

I am very pleased with this coffee dripper
I am very pleased with this coffee dripper. I put them in our hotel rooms instead of coffee makers that kept breaking. It is great not to have to use paper filters and this apparatus is very well made and sturdy.

Care must be taken in the selection of coffee grains.
Care must be taken in the selection of coffee grains.Because the wire mesh is too dense, coffee grounds easily get caught in the gaps in the wire mesh.

I bought one of these for myself and my mother. Worked great for about a week and then it started to clog up. I always clean it after each use but it still clogged and would not allow the coffee to pass through. Ended up going with a ceramic one that uses filters that is much better

Hard to clean
I've been using this for several months. It started out great, but it now takes way too long, over 5 minutes, to make a cup. I've tried cleaning it by letting it soak in a mix of vinegar and water, as recommended online, but it didn't improve things.

Five Stars
high quailty and easy to cleanUpdate, this thing is kinda miserable, its not the products fault it's just the screen is too small, I swear it filters electrons from protons or something, I would try the single mesh one first

This is great for a quick cup of coffee without the expense of pods, etc. I prefer the stainless steel over plastic. It is easy to clean and easy to use. It is only ONE part to make the perfect cup of coffee.
