Wii Classic Controller

Don't make my mistake!! I needed these controllers, but I tried to get a knockoff version first to save money. BAD DECISION. I got what I paid for... which were slow-response controllers with buttons that would stick, and one joystick didn't even work, right out of the package! So then I gave in and looked for the actual Wii brand. These came well-packaged, as advertised, and they work GREAT. We are having so much fun playing our classic games with these, and they arrived on time as promised. Do yourself a favor and don't be cheap. Buy the official Wii classic controllers!

If you're going to buy this, then buy the ones that are officially licensed by Nintendo. Don't buy the generic ones. Generic controllers are those that look like the real thing but are actually third party knock-offs, are usually sold at a smaller price than the original, and DO NOT bear any brand name. They are mostly cheap imitations with flimsy buttons, and usually don't last as long as officially licensed controllers. I had to buy another classic controller (this time licensed by Nintendo) because the first one I brought, which was a generic, was of low quality and didn't last very long. Otherwise, the controller works great. I would have went for the classic controller pro, but I went for this one instead because I prefered that oldschool controller feel rather than a modern controller feel.

This is a great controller if you want to play classic games on your wii. It plugs into your wii mote--which works then essentially as a wireless remote in that it isn't tethered to the wii console. It will use your wii controller batteries so I guess that is a negative if you do not have a charger for your batteries. Makes playing pac man fun! (which was my first reason for getting it). And i discovered a lot of classic games that are fairly inexpensive.

I purchased this controller when nintendo classic controllers manufactured by nintendo were out of stock. Turns out, that was a poor decision. This is an extremely low quality item--buttons stick, the directional pad barely works, shoddy workmanship all around. For the same price you can get a classic controller manufactured by nintendo, and the quality will be top notch. I know, because the day I received this lemon, I went out to buy the nintendo version.

I bought this so I could play Virtual Console games (and emulated games) on the Nintendo Wii. The controller works as advertised and I have no complaints! This controller plugs into the bottom of a WiiMote, so, while there is a cord (non-wireless), you can take the WiiMote+Controller tether anywhere within range of the Wii's bluetooth. I've enjoyed playing old SNES games (which I think the controller is designed the most for). N64, NES, and Genesis games are also ported well with this controller, and I was able to adjust for these button setups quickly. I recommend this controller for anyone with a Nintendo Wii that enjoys playing older games (NES, SNES, SEGA Gensis/Master System, MAME, Neo-Geo, N64, etc).

First of all, if you buy this product and plan on spending an appreciable amount of time playing on it, get one of these for each Classic Controller: Wii Classic Controller Grip . It fixes the ergonomic issues. With those attached, I have played 3-4 hours at a time with no discomfort. That said: When my wife and I got our Wii, we got two Classic Controllers (CCs) so we could more easily play Virtual Console (VC) games. That was almost a year ago, and we just got our first VC game. That might make it seem like a waste, but one thing made it worth it: Mario Kart Wii. I played hours and hours and hours of Mario Kart 64, and the CC is far and above my favorite way to play Mario Kart Wii. You will give up tricks during jumps and wheelies, but I don't really use those anyway. We finally did get our first VC game (Super Mario Brothers), and the CCs work great. I can't comment on GameCube games since I've never owned one and haven't gotten a VC GameCube game, but the joystick and overall feel of the CC is a lot better than the one on any N64 gamepad I used (better material on top, better resistance, don't have to tilt left wrist to use trigger button, etc.). To those complaining that this isn't truly "wireless" since you have to connect it to a WiiMote: because it is that way, you also don't have to worry about extra batteries for this controller and unless you're standing up and whipping the thing everywhere, I don't see how that negatively impacts the experience: when I use the CC, the Wiimote sits next to me on the couch or end table and I forget it's even there. I don't think everyone appreciates the challenge inherent in this product: the design team was tasked with building something that would play everything from NES up to the Wii. This wasn't meant to be an N64 controller, an NES controller, or a GameCube controller (hear that, rest of reviewers?). It's something that tries to be an acceptable replacement for all of those original controllers. Everyone forgets that Nintendo very well could have released new versions of all of those controllers and charged $25 apiece for them. I would rather have something that works well for all those consoles than rebuy several controllers to make use of all the kinds of VC games. The only major complaint I have is the anemic support for the CC in new, first-party Nintendo titles. We got ours with the assumption that things would be like Mario Kart Wii: you can use the CCs, but you'll give up some niceties. Instead, most titles won't support it even though it seems the control scheme could translate to a CC. Super Mario Galaxy is a perfect example: you would give up the ability to grab star bits from far away, but you could adapt the core game movements to the CC. We were disappointed to find this is not supported. Overall, I am very happy with the purchase: if nothing else, we have the intended controller for VC games and I found a fantastic control scheme for Mario Kart Wii that I much prefer to all others I've tried. It's not every expensive, either. Is is my favorite controller ever? No, but it does its job well. Pros: - Good control scheme for most Virtual Console games - Build quality is good and analog stick tops have nice anti-slip material - When a new Wii game supports it, makes for a nice alternative - No need for extra batteries since it plugs into a WiiMote Cons - Apparently not for GameCube games - Need a third-party attachment for good ergonomics - Because it's not made for a specific console, some games' control schemes might not translate well - Wish more new first-party Nintendo titles would make use of it Neutral - Not truly wireless, but the cord is long enough to keep WiiMote from interfering in normal play

The controller hooks into your wiimote, not the wii. This allows you to play wirelessly, which is pretty nice. This is essentially a gamecube controller that uses the model of an SNES controller. The buttons are smooth - much smoother than the gamecube controller that I was using. I also like having the old abxy button setup rather than the gamecube controller's odd configuration. For playing classic downloaded games on the wii, this is a great buy.

Nintendo has made it a great idea and marketing strategy to make NES and SNES games available for purchase and download on the virtual console for the Wii. You can play these games with the game cube controller, but it's really hard, since it's for the game cube not for the SNES. As far as the NES, they could've made game play available with the wii remote. As far as the SNES, you need this Wii Classic Controller, as the four buttons were available on that console and you don't find them on the Wii remote. So, you can play all virtual console games with the game cube controller, but don't. Game play is much more simpler and fun if you use the original feel, unfortunately. They should've just made this controller available with the original system. Downloading games you have to purchase only to find you need it is a little cruel, yet a great markeging strategy!

Great little controller, similar to SNES' only with analogue sticks. Comfortable, works well however still all these years after Wii's release there's very few Retail games that actually support it as a second playing method which is annoying (check Nintendo's official site for which games are compatiable) - especially considering this was for my 4yo nephew who cannot use Wii-mote and nunchuck. However, for those it does work on it works great.

Ho acquistato due di questi Wii Classic Controller usati dal rivenditore Game Fever, il loro servizio è stato eccellente! I controller sono originali e funzionano alla perfezione, nessun difetto riscontrato finora. I controller sono ORIGINALI Nintendo, e la qualità si paga. Di fasulli/tarocchi ne potete trovare a bizzeffe in circolazione, ma non valgono neanche un centesimo in confronto a questi. Consiglio assolutamente il venditore "Game Fever" per videogiochi & vari accessori retró!

Au départ, j'avais acheté 2 manettes gamecube non-officiel et j'étais déçu de mon achat, car les manettes étaient brisées lors de la réception. (Achat fait sur Amazon et on m'a remboursé les articles). En fesant une nouvelle recherche pour trouver 2 manettes wii de meilleurs qualités, j'ai trouvé ces manettes. Très heureux de mon achat. Les manettes étaient très bien emballés. Aucun bug durant le jeux mario kart wii. Très satisfait de cette boutique. Je le recommande
