These merino low cut socks are the best socks I've found for summer walking - they fit well, don't make your feet too hot and are wonderfully comfortable thanks to the wool mix and cushioned footbed. They also seem to wash and wear well with no shrinkage. They are quite pricey but worth it I think as they are far superior to cotton socks, which can sometimes rub in hot weather. They also get less smelly, which is a bonus. UPDATE July 25: I recently ordered a three pack (black/grey/green) of the lighter weight summer walking socks, which are even better for hot weather. I would point out though that the green pair are like the original low cut socks and have cushioning the entire length of the sole and on top of the foot, whereas the black and grey socks only have cushioning in the heel and toe areas and so are a bit thinner. But this is not really a problem for me as I like both styles.

Comfortable to wear on 7 mile walks

Found these socks to be extremely comfortable, on my feet wearing steel toe capped but for 12hrs a day. These helped tremendously with aching fit. Why did you choose this product over others?: Good value

I’m an avid runner, walker and do a variety of sports. Good socks are a must. These socks are high quality and excellent for the price.

Bought these socks a few times before and they were brilliant - thick and good quality wool. In the latest purchase (Jul 2025) the socks were completely different - way too thin for hiking boots and not at all what I expected. Would not recommend anymore as seems like they've decimated the quality. EDIT: the company offered a full refund for the product so review has been updated to reflect the good service.

Ordered for walking SWCP and they’ve stood up well. Comfy and hard wearing so far. Don’t seem to travel in my boots so no need to stop and sort them out. A bit pricey but worth it for long walks.

Expensive but comfortable. Not overly thick. Best for summer.

I loved them! Great quality. Great for hiking, running, walking. Not too warm not too cold, just perfect. A must for Canadian winters!

UPDATE (2026.01.28) I have been offered a "Full Refund". I'm surprised that Danish Endurance JP reached out to me to offer this. I'm changing my review to 5*. The socks are ok ~ but not necessarily intended for winter wear as I wanted. The customer support reaching out to me is excellent service. If I successfully receive a refund, I still want to order the proper socks from Danish Endurance. So I will just have to read their product info carefully and hope for the best. ORIGINAL REVIEW: This was supposed to be a repeat order - but what I received is NOT the same as from my first order (last year). The material is different. It WAS a warm, secure, wicking sock. This set is thinner and does not have the same compression / feeling.

Really good socks at an excellent price. I would like them to be a bit longer but this is not a fault of the socks so much as of my choice

These are winners! Bought these for husband, and crew socks for myself for a recent 2 week trip to Scotland where we’d be doing a lot of walking in damp conditions. They worked great! Kept our feet warm and dry- even if the socks got damp. They were worn several days without washing and didn’t get stinky, despite being in hiking boots all day long. Dried quickly when wet. Sizing is true to size. No uncomfortable seams. Thick, but didn’t make boots fit differently. Have machine washed quite welll and I hang them to dry. I feel they’re as good as the expensive pair I got at REI. Would definitely buy more if needed.
