This is a wonderfully rich book containing sensitive insights from the author as well as well-known writers and theologians such as Sallie McFague, Denise Levertov, Wendell Berry and more. A careful weaving of prayer, scripture and eloquent reflections, Earth Gospel is a gift to oneself and would make a great gift to others. I plan to use it in my own devotional life and to order many more to give as gifts.

Using quotes from poets, scripture, writers and historical personages, the author creates a real 'conversation' about the earth and our relationship to it. It is divided into reflections of morning, noon and evening that invite you daily into the realm of a conciousness of the world around you. The author's deep love of everything created shines through and invites the reader into this mindfulness with sensitivity and intelligence by the writings included. I have used it both personally and as a worship aid and found it helpful and fulfilling in both areas.

This book helps make the connection between the natural world and the spiritual. It is full of resources prayers, suggestions for practice that are wide-ranging, liberating and insightful. It is an invaluable contribution for those who find that Creation is their first source of consciousness Spirit, and for those who are seeking to develop that consciousness.

Love this devotional. I feel it really speaks to our duty to take care of the earth and all things living. The many different voices that Sam Hamilton-Poore uses makes it a universal message.

Earth Gospel is one of the more remarkable books I have ever encountered. Following traditional Christian formats, this small volume presents a variety of fresh new material. Earth Gospel should appeal to a variety of folk, including traditional Christians and Eco-Christians. This book is highly recommended.
