This performs fine as a hotspot and power source comparing well to using my phone as a hotspot, but it comes into its own in situations where your own mobile phone network is not available and you need to connect to an alternative. A lot of mobile phones do actually offer you the option of searching for a network and if you know what you doing you can set up the connection to another network but it's not their main function and they're not designed to necessarily make it an easy process nor do they have the option of scanning/tracking/selecting and optimizing in the same way as the Glocalme does.Once you set this up it works pretty well with regard to connecting to networks, but as I was not in abroad or in an isolated area when I unboxed this I couldn't really test how good this is in challenging situations. So I've done some research on the use of this by global travellers, by people on cruise ships just coming into port or people living in isolated areas. All the reviews I found were pretty positive.Initially setting the thing up is the fiddly part, software may need updating, there's an app to install in your phone but as setting up you mobile phone takes time (and this is very similar tech to a phone) I think that's reasonable.The company has been producing this sort of tech since at least 2018 as some of the reviews go back that far and it has several models available so it's a well established manufacturer of these products.The free data that comes with the device is time sensitive but Glocalme offers different packages including pay as you go, a day pass etc.There are plenty of reviews out there so I would do research particularly on any which are related to Glocalme's performance in the place you intend to travel.Build wise the quality seems very good. It is robust and compact.

So why Amazing… Because this device sets a president that I didn’t even know existed. 205g and a slim 1.2cm, this unit looks like the dimensions of a typical smart phone nowadays (6.8cm x 14.7cm) and arguably does the same thing as smart phones in the shape of internet tethering. Ive even tried my best to argue that the product could be better with a touch screen implementation but I actually love the full synergy of the device and phone, coalescing through the app where the two hardwares become one in the software. Its here, on the phone, that you can see all your menus and data analytics not to mention the ability to remotely turn off the router.This thing really is built for travel and very rarely leaves my side as I love its proportions and weight and the fact that it uses its own network to keep you connected. As for the consumer friendly prices of said network, well thats a different story but this module came with an existing free small data package so I was able to appreciate the power, fluidity through speed of the network. But thats not all… In a gesture of giving the consumer liberty we are able to put our own sim cards in the router meaning that we can use our existing packages. I find this especially useful when my phone is out of commission, I will use the router with devices such as my iPad. Clear indicator LEDs allow me to know the status of my connection through flashing, and variance in colour, its all quite intuitive.Now if this was all that was on the table I would have been a very happy man but the device has not stopped giving… Featured on the belly is three integrated wires namely USB C, Lightening and Micro USB. This allows connection to an extra feature, an onboard power bank. Now bare in mind this power bank is far from the best that I’ve managed to get my mitts on but the fact that it is here at all is nothing but a bonus and sheer credit to the build of the device. 7000 mAh was able to charge an iPhone 12 Pro from 0-100% in 5hrs 59mins while retaining 43% of life for another charge which would presumably be able to top the iPhone back up again well beyond the halfway mark.Did I say how much I love this product? I guess the title really does sum it up for me. I travel a lot and cant always get a signal or I wont delve into roaming charges. At least now I have more arsenal at my fingertips in the struggle to stray connected.

Best feature the battery running time. I counted a day +Compact enough and can get around 25 MBps speeds with cloud or SIM.Cloud prices simple does not worth as long you can have even half prices with eSim providers and add it to your smartphone. The device is useful when you don't want to make your phone hotspot.The price is way to high for what it offers and could be worth if it were around 75£ range.Buy only if you want battery autonomy.

This device doubles as a hotspot as well as a portable charger which is perfect for travelling. It comes with 1.1GB of data loaded on it which came in pretty handy as I tested on my recent trip away to Greece. The set up is very simply and easy to understand. The app has a lot of countries you can buy data for, my only issue is for the price you have to pay for the gadget you'd expect the data packages to be cheaper than what they are. Few years back when I travelled to Japan we hired a pocket WiFi and it was cheaper than what you'd pay here since it was unlimited data for multiple users. The idea is neat but needs to add more value otherwise you'd be better off having a spare phone and buying a local data SIM when you land in your destination which is what I tend to do.

I was interested to try this as I usually travel quite a lot and some hotels dont have free wifi in the rooms just the public areas or the wifi is pants.I have to admit to being disappointed in what you get for £130 in terms of data especially when you then have to purchase the add-ons which work out very high. The signal is decent - I tried in the UK and also in Gibraltar and it worked fine in both locations with a good level.The app is fine, easy to download and connect.The power bank is quite low at 7000mAh I would normally use at least 10000mAh especially if I am going somewhere where I will be using my device a lot.Overall I think its a nice enough idea but as pretty much most UK plans include a good data allowance for travelling abroad now and the individual mobile networks also offer decent add on data plans its a little obsolete.
