OMAX - Microscope and Camera Optical Lens Cleaning Paper - 1000 Sheets

This is very simple stuff - tissue paper for cleaning lenses. What makes it special is that it contains no rough particles that can scratch optics or coatings, and it leaves no dust or lint behind. Be aware that paper towels and even 'super-soft' Kleenex can contain anything from sawdust to stainless steel fragments. As long as the particles aren't big enough to injure a person, they're not a problem - to people. Precision optics are a whole different story, as many (including myself) have discovered the hard way.This type of tissue is available in many different forms; boxes, rolls, etc.; this 'booklet' style is the most compact and portable. Combined with a basic glass-cleaning solution (commercially available, or mix your own from distilled water and alcohol) these will safely and effectively clean pretty much any optics, from microscopes to eyeglasses.

Just what I needed for my microscope, telescope, and glasses. I bought some lens cleaner in a local store, but did not like the sheets because they left streaks on the lens. These are much better...just a little on the expensive side by comparison.

I got it for cleaning my glasses, because I find little cloths not that effective or easy to work with. This high-quality paper (little sheets of it) isn't that great for my need. It's too thin and too delicate. It tears too easily. I'd like something more durable of comparable quality; and I intend to continue searching for it.

Blot, don't wipe your oil immersion lens. Just take a wipe and hold it under the lens, pull upward and it will leave a circle of oil on the wipe. Repeat until no more oil shows up.That's usually fine, but if you've got residue than research *exactly* what solvent is safe for your lens but will still dissolve the crud. Distilled water is safest and cheap to buy. If they say 'alcohol' the don't mean the usual 70% rubbing alcohol in most drugstores: get the 90% at least. My microscope manual says not to use organic solvents but then recommends (organic) alcohol!?! Umm, my plan is to just use the cover and not get the objectives dirty.Most miceobiology textbooks/websites/manuals I've read (I was a librarian in a technical school) recommend xylene, naptha or turpentine to dissolve immersion oil, but those are organics too! EVERYONE says NOT to use acetone. Research for your specific equipment!!!Anyway, blot the oil immersion objective with these and you'll probably be fine-you won't need any solvents at all. Just blot, don't swirl or twist or scrub or fold into a point or make like you're shining a pair of army boots. Less contact and no sliding or scraping across the surface of the lens is better.Cover your microscope and you won't have to do anything to the normal objectives, worst case get a squeeze bulb air blower for any dust.BTW, my wipe came quickly and safely in their unbent and dry booklet.

This is good lens cleaning paper and it came on time. I do not like to rate things. It's one of my quirks. Especially when five stars means "I love it." Do I love lens cleaning paper? I love my camera. I love the lens it protects. But the lens cleaning paper? I wish Amazon would leave me alone on this one. Anyway, it's good stuff, it came on time, and I can recommend the company.

These sheets are absolutely necessary when cleaning the lenses of Microscopes, Cameras, Video Cameras, Telescopes, Binoculars, and/ or any other equipment that makes use of fine and/or sensitive Lens. The are no good substitute for an excellent quality lens paper. In my opinion, microfiber cloths are not a substitute for a good quality lens paper for cleaning sensitive and expensive lenses. The only exception would be some specific cloth specified by the manufacture of the sensitive equipment and/or lenses.

I bought these for cleaning my glasses and was very disappointed. They are very thin and frail, I had to use two at a time. And they disintegrate easily leaving a lot of lint and paper fragments behind. As it says on the product information, you got to have an air blower, or else... On the positive side, the booklet form is very practical.
