HJC IS-17 Chin Curtain Mouthpiece Street Motorcycle Helmet Accessories - Black/One Size

This is a feature that should have come standard from HJC, but cost savings help HJC meet their price point I guess Chin curtains can help minimally with cold, but that is not the point The breath guard is intended to prevent fogging, and a pinlock insert can be added if fogging is a serious issue for you. Chin curtains are meant to cut down on wind noise, but mostly to prevent air/dirt/bikes from entering the helmet and messing with your eyes This chin curtain does exactly that It is not uncomfortable, but is very functional Install is not necessarily hard, but it does require some effort. Because the helmet did not come standard with it, you need to loosen the glue around the edge to allow to hard "blade" of the chin curtain to slide into the helmet frame. Make sure to push it in centered the first time, and make sure to push the "blade" all the way down to flush with the edge seal. The beauty is that you have to install it only once, so this is not an issue Get yourself one and you will love it

The circulation in this helmet is a bit much for me. This curtain helped out a lot. I wear earplugs, but this also adds quite a bit of sound dampening. The insertion into the lining was a little tricky. I went from one side to the other as I didn't have luck starting in the middle, as I saw on some YouTube tutorials. It's not perfect, and I could probably pull it out and trim the plastic a bit to make it sit more flush, but I don't think it will move the way it is. Certainly worth it IMO.

This chin curtain works for the C70 as well as the is-17. This is a Must-Have for fall and winter riding!! It decreases The wind by maybe 40%. This makes a huge difference! It took me about 10 minutes to put it in. However, once it is in, it is very solid and will not come out on its own. You have to work it in as the helmet was not made for chin curtains. Once you get the front of it in the rest of it slides in easily.

Didn’t care for the chin curtain at all it was just an open mesh system doesn’t block any noise I can see how it might be OK for fogging but nothing else

The item works just as described. I think it's easier to install than other people say. You just have to take your time. Once installed I don't see any chance of it ever coming off it's very firm. The seller has the slowest shipping I've ever seen. I could've walked to MI and back to FL in 8 days (but it was mentioned in shipping so I can't blame seller).

Fits perfectly on my XS HJC C70!!

Pain to install but won't come out on its own! Start down on one side and slide it in to the other side. Once o figured that out I got it installed on about 30 seconds.

Fits right in the helmet. Doesn't move around when putting the helmet on or taking it off. Reduces wind noise a lot, but doesn't do a lot for fogging.
