Delkin Devices Fat Gecko Tablet and iPad Bracket (DDMNT-UTAB1)

My application is cockpit use, holding a large iPad and attached to single suction cup mount. The first use convinces you that the hardware is well made and sturdy enough to hold your iPad or other device securely in place. Inserting the tablet is relatively easy by placing one corner in one bracket, and pushing against the spring-loaded, expanding bracket enough to catch the diagonally opposite corner in the other end. Once the tablet is grabbed by the bracket, it's set and not going anywhere. The only downside is it's bulky, so it takes a bit of space in your kit bag to transport. That's not a deal breaker for me, and a small price to pay. Bulk is the tradeoff for sturdiness.

This thing is great! It holds my Galaxy Tab Two, 10.1 I believe, as securely as anything yet it takes seconds to attach or detach from the tablet. The caveat is you need a pretty sturdy tripod to maintain the security, especially if the tablet is a larger one. I considered the other type of brackets, the ones with all kinds of adjusting arms and things built in, but I realized that the tripod would do the adjusting. There is no additional stress on any part of the bracket since it's flat, just one piece; this avoids putting extra stress on the (frequently plastic) parts of these kinds of brackets. This thing slaps right up against my tripod, which is built to handle the stresses. We are using the tablet -- along with a bluetooth keyboard to control it -- as sort of a teleprompter by positioning it just above our video camera on a second tripod. It works great, and this bracket is the essential part of the whole setup.

The bracket claims "attach ...hands free use almost anywhere" "the adjustable ....inches securely ". My tablet is not held securely. The bracket jaws are approx 14.5mm and my tablet thickness is approx 9.6mm, leaving almost 5mm free play and the tablet wobbles wildly when held in the jaws and is certainly NOT usable as a touchpad.. Directly refuting the claimed performance statement for the holder. In addition 1 of the holding jaws covers the 3.5mm audio out socket which prevents my intended use of this socket. that I need for audio out from the tablet in my project. If the tablet is rotated 90degrees to enable the use of the 3.5mm socket then the jaw depresses the volume button preventing management of the audio volume. (see pics) Quote " the adjustable bracket holds any tablet or ipad between 7 and 10.5 inches" "compatible with 7 to 10.5 inch wide, measured diagonally, in, including the Apple ipad1, 2,3&4, Air 1&2,Mini 1,2&3, Samsung, Asus, Google, AMAZON, tablets and more". This bracket is TOTALLY .INCOMPATIBLE with my AMAZON Fire 10 for ALL the above reasons. I would also say that it is not suitable for any tablet less than approx 14.5 mm thick, as they would all not be held securely. Very Poor Design. DOESNT WORK AS CLAIMED. YOU NEED TO WITHDRAW THIS PRODUCT AS IT IS NOT COMPATIBLE WITH AMAZON FIRE 10 TABLETS WHICH IT CLAIMS.. SOMEONE HAS NOT DONE THE TESTING WITH THIS BRACKET I AM SURE THERE MUST BE OTHER SIMILAR INCOMPATIBILITIES WITH TABLETS FOR WHICH YOU CLAIM SUITABILITY.

Great iPad holder. I got 2 of them. They work great and they never release my iPad. I feel that my iPads are safe so I cancelled my accidental insurance on it. So at the end I am saving money with this holder. Great Job!
