I took a lot of notes
I bought this book used but I am not disappointed in the content. I took a lot of notes and consider this a great find. If you want to think and act like a champion -- without the hype -- this is definitely a book that you should have

Still incredibly relevant!
While the field has evolved over the years, the first several chapters on identifying and tapping into your volition are timeless. I started using clustering to help get my thoughts out and organized, look for commonalities and identify patterns because of reading this in 1985: still using that technique today! Still buying old copies for my athletes. Not sure what I’m going to do when there are no more copies left😞

A must for coaches and self-coaches.
It's great to read this book with quotes of athletes of the time this book was written, such as Caitlin Jenner. Gardfield is a must for coaches and coaches-to-be. What I find extremely great is that he dissects applicable techniques and shows that they are not only for sports but for business also. No new age nonsense but backed up research.

Good story and exercises
This book is a rare gem from the 80s. Good story and exercises. If you want to learn mind tricks for relaxation and visualization either for sports or personal life this is a great book.

For all professional athletes
Great Book. This is a must read for all professional athletes who want to maximize their abilities. Mental training is often put as a secondary aspect of training, when in fact, mental training creates the top performers.
