Whirlpool 510 & 450 Replacement Filter Kit (1-Year Supply)

I purchased these filters at the same time as purchasing a much cheaper off brand. From my own side by side comparison here is what I noticed: The Whirlpool primary and pre-filters are heavier than the off brand. Holding the Whirlpool filter up to the light a more uniform, consistent texture of the filter was noted compared to the off brand. I could fairly easily see through the off brand carbon pre-filter where the Whirlpool carbon pre-filter was more dense. In my opinion the off brand filter is probably OK and will probably do the job fine but for me I prefer the Whirlpool filter. The primary filter and pre-filters from Whirlpool appear to have tighter tolerances and fit snugly and firmly, The off brand filters appeared to be cut slightly smaller but fit fine. ONE NOTE: on the Whirlpool filter box it claims that it traps viruses . This unfortunately is a bit misleading. This filter might trap some viruses but is not fine enough to capture (nor kill) the Corona COVID-19 virus. Having said that I am still pleased and happy with the purchase to lessen the springtime allergens in my house (I'm seriously afraid to sneeze for fear of being placed into isolation / quarantine).

Just replaced the Hepa filter and prefilter in my Whirlpool air purifier. Amazing! The machine is running quieter and circulating way more air. Within 2 hours even my husband noticed the difference. For almost year we had been using thinner generic brand filters. Never again. I suffer from COPD and am on oxygen 24/7. My health and my husband’s are worth the extra cost for the best name brand filters. We can count on these to actually cleaning the air.

These filters are expensive. I have used generic manufacturers before snd they work to a degree but if you want it to fit perfectly and work to filter as a hepa filter should, I have not found one that fits better and thus pay the price to buy the name brand filters…I would gladly appreciate the input if another manufacturer makes a replacement filter as good as this one!

These are OEM, but the HEPA filter had a horrible petroleum odor that didn't go away even after running it for three days. Returned it with no problem and bought a non-OEM version.

Writing this review because in the art on both boxes, it says "Dust, pet danger". I'm grateful to know that this product will keep my cats out of danger.

Filters are a necessary evil for air purifiers. Much more costly than the machine itself. OEM Whirlpool filters are more and more difficult to find. I know I’ll eventually have to replace my great working and long lasting purifiers. Meanwhile, this set was a great value and were genuine Whirlpool filters.

These were of the highest quality and boxed in Whirlpool's heavy cartons. The carbon filters were very dense and will be more effective than lighter weight pre-filters I have purchased from other suppliers. I strongly recommend this product for individuals who must have purified air due to breathing issues.

This air cleaner runs 24/7 in my son’s room, to provide white noise, air circulation and cleaner air. This machine still chugs away after more than ten years. You can see how much spot and dust are removed from the air.
