Great bit if kit for the money, reliably makes great pizza once you get used to it
We got this after wanting a proper pizza oven for a while, we wanted to start with one of the cheap ones to see if we liked it before then upgrading to a more expensive one. This one is remarkably good, especially when considering the price. A perfect way to start out into the world of pizza making. To use it properly you will need to learn about how to use it, it’s not as simple as a home oven but if you’re aware of what to do then it can reliably make amazing pizzas. I now find this gets better pizzas than a gas ooni oven that we have used at friends. The flames on this give a more even cooking (rather than the ooni just being very very hot at back by flame but cold at the front - needing a lot more turning). Aside from the obvious things that have been mentioned in all the previous reviews a few tricks that I’ve picked up are: If there is a breeze make sure it is blowing from the back of the oven to the front - this keeps the draft working as expected. An infrared thermometer is a must have - you’ll only get good results if you are aware of the temperature. Keep the temperature between 450 and 480C - higher than 500 is easily possible in this but tends to burn the bottom before the top is cooked. After each pizza it will take a couple minutes to get back up to temperature, don’t put another one in straight away. The temperature can be controlled by removing the front - taking the front off removes form of the draft and lowers the temperature. Don’t overfill the back hopper, just enough to not see the lit bit at the bottom. You’ll need to add a spoonful or 2 of pellets after each pizza. Use the angled holding tool to shake/vibrate the fire box after each pizza to get rid of ash and keep a nice amount of airflow. When you put the pizza in you’ll need to close the door to ensure a proper draft, then you’ll need to periodically remove the door and refit it to check on it. It takes a bit of practice to know how long to leave it before turning it at various stages through the cooking time. Be aware lots (and lots) of soot accumulates in and on the oven, when carrying it or disassembling I would recommend gloves! All in all it’s an incredible capable machine. If in doubt just go for it.

Wish I'd bought one years ago. 20 minutes to warm up and 80 seconds to cook a 12 inch pizza. 80 seconds, not 12 to 15 minutes in an oven, cheaper to run too. Brilliant.

Great pizza oven
★★★★☆ Tasty pizza, fun oven — just takes some practice Really happy with this little wood pellet pizza oven! It heats up fast and makes delicious, crispy pizzas with that great wood-fired flavor. The size is perfect for backyard use, and it’s fairly easy to set up and move around. Pros: Heats up quickly (super hot!) Compact and portable Wood-fired taste is awesome Great price for what you get Cons: Bit of a learning curve — need to turn the pizza often Pellet feeding takes some attention Cooking area is small (12") Temp can be hard to control at first Once you get the hang of it, it's a blast to use. Great for pizza nights with friends or family. Would recommend!

Excellent but make sure you have quality pellets
I started using this pizza oven and found it difficult to keep it consistently lit and burning long enough to cook, but this was definitely down to low quality pellets. Changed to better ones and this is now a fantastic product and excellent value for money

Amazing bit of kit - we love it!
This is superb value for money! Within 30 minutes of opening the box we had it built and fired up with excellent pizza coming straight out! I’d also like to mention the excellent build quality - this is not flimsy, it’s stainless steel of a good gauge, so will last a long time. I’d recommend a few things though: 1) If you don’t already have get a pizza peel, actually get two. 2) Get an infrared thermometer - our only failure was not getting the stone hot enough after relighting it. 3) You have to try cooking steak in it!!! Amazing, although the times given in the instructions are likely for quite a thin cut - you’ll need 3 mins+ per side for a 1-1/2” cut of steak. The flavour from this flame grilled cooking is incredible. Also don’t be surprised if any fat on your steak actually catches fire 🤣 4) Soft wood fuel pellets are fine but burn through quicker. We got from a local central heating supplier for £8/20kgs. 5) After 30 minutes of cooking it’ll really chew through the pellets. No issue there but keep stoking or it’ll burn out. 6) Finally - get the bag for it. 7) And while you’re at it get a cheese kit and make your own Mozzarella as well as the dough 👍👍👍

Fantastic Pizza Oven
This is a fantastic oven. I just couldn't justify the cost of an Oonie but this fitted my budget and it works great. I wont purchase a shop bought pizza again nor will I have one when I go out to an Italian restaurant when I can make such good pizzas at home. A top tip is to use frozen pizza dough from Tesco along with Heinz tomato and basil pasta sauce. Do heat the oven up for a good 20mins before you use it for best results.

Fantastic design,great pizza!
What a fantastic item, so straight forward to use great design, cant fault it. The pizza oven paired with a thermometer gun cooks the pizzas to perfection in minutes, the pellets chute makes refilling it simple, and the ashes drop out into a grate below. Between uses i use the big horn pizza oven cover which was a bargain price btw and my pizza peel to scrape anything off the pizza stone. Really impressed with their customer service too

Why Pay More? This thing is amazing!
After having friends with an Ooni oven, I took a chance with the Bighorn to save a few dollars. To keep this short, lets just say that this thing has outperformed my friends' ovens and become one of my favourite things to use outdoors. Simple to use, makes amazing pizza fast, the wood fired taste and smell is astounding, and an amazingly SOLID Stainless steel build makes this a must have. I have taken this thing all over in travels and it folds up perfectly and never fails. As well ... the company has the most amazing customer service! I was stupid enough to be using this outside in a -30 Canadian winter, and left the unit outside overnight after I was done using it. Sadly, due to my own error of letting this go from several hundred degrees Fahrenheit to minus 30 degrees Celsius, the pizza stone cracked. I contacted the company and within two days they shipped me a new stone free of charge! I would highly recommend this unit to anyone who asks, and the company has gained my full support in all respects. Grad yourself this oven, along with a pizza peel, and a Digital thermometer and get started making the best pizzas you'll ever make. Just writing this review is making me hungry for another pizza out of this beauty! I'd pay money just to smell the pizzas coming out of the oven! There are people who convert to propane with this, but I'd stick with the pellets to get the full experience and flavour. A few trial runs or questions asked to someone who owns one (heck ... feel free to message me if you need to) and you'll be knocking pizzas right out of the park. DON'T HESITATE! GET THIS NOW! ... and no I havent been paid to say this... it is really that good. Cheers everyone and happy pizza making !

Super petit four à pizza 🍕
Petit four à pizza bien conçu et efficace. Mes premières pizza ont cuits correctement. Il faut veiller à charger le pellet pour obtenir une belle flamme. Pas mécontent de mon premier essai. Il me reste a trouver le bon dosage de sel pour ma pâte et arriver a ce que la pizza ne colle pas à la pelle pour que ce soit parfait. Mais rien a voir avec le four. Un petit régal ce four.

Fantastisch!
Mega toller Pizzaofen! Nach dem kompletten Aufheizen waren die Pizzen innerhalb 2-3 (!) Minuten fertig! Unglaublich! Und unglaublich knusprig! Gekaufte Tiefkühlware haben wir vorher etwas angetaut. Die Pizzen haben wir nach kurzer Zeit ein mal gedreht. Selbstgemachter Pizzahefeteig wird oben unglaublich fluffig und unten mega knusprig. Man sollte bei selbstgemachtem Teig diesen nicht zu groß machen und nicht zu dick belegen da sonst das Drehen und hinein- & herausnehmen etwas schwierig ist. Wo der Ofen auf dem Tisch o.ä. steht wird kaum Hitze abgegeben/übertragen. An allen anderen Stellen wird er natürlich sehr heiß. Dass die Ofentür komplett abzunehmen ist finde ich persönlich wirklich besser, als wenn sie fest verbaut wäre. Wir haben hochwertige Pellets gekauft und die haben super gebrannt, kaum Asche verursacht und enorme Hitze produziert. Reinigung und Handhabung des Ofens ist wirklich top und intuitiv. Wir würden ihn auf jeden Fall empfehlen und sind total begeistert!
