I was looking for a slightly cheaper option for mountain biking shorts. These certainly are cheaper. The pull tab at the button closure broke the second time I used it, and the sizing makes absolutely no sense to me. The shorts themselves fit me pretty well (I am a 31/32 waist, ordered the medium and they fit well at their largest size) but the undershorts are made for someone much smaller. I rode for about an hour and a half and they were tight, constricting, and irritating the entire time. Do yourself a favor, spend the extra $10 to $20 and get a decent pair of shorts if you plan on riding with any frequency. The first pair of shorts I ordered was the Fox Head Ranger shorts (http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003V2XNX0/ref=cm_cr_ryp_prd_ttl_sol_4), which I have used more than 20 times and have nothing to complain about.

Nice shorts for mtb riding. The chamois/padded liner is low quality compared to fox chamois I normally use. So I won't be using the one that came with these shorts. I'm a 35/36 waist and fit snug which is what I like since I don't use a belt while riding. When receive the material was like stiff windbreaker material but I washes them and are now way better. I f you use the liner pad that comes with these shorts, you'll be sore because it's not memory foam nor very thick. I like the shorts. Not the liner. Pairs nicely with my heather gray fox mtb jersey. A little over priced 40 $ feels better than 50$ but I'm gonna keep em
