Plug doubler 1 into 2 great product.
Having seen the price and read some of the terrible reviews I thought I'd screwed up here and thought "got what id paid for" but I'm not going to say that at all . This product is brilliant. Well made. Seems to conform to BS regs and is just what I needed. Yes the cable holes are tight especially with a ring main circuit but nothing a bit of tidying and snipping didn't cure. All in all a great product and a great price. Took minutes to install and is working well. Thoroughly recommend it to all.Not sure I believe some of the reviews on here now after actually seeing it and fitting it myself. I think some reviews may be from very inept people with little or no skill or practicality at all.Just use your brain take your time and this product will do you proud.

Beware!
Nice looking kit; but 'iffy'.The 'nice' diagram shows one cable and a direct view of terminals. Real world: 2 cables [D'OH, it's a Ring Main]; too short to see in the back: if you've got three - a spur out - abandon ship, and go to pub! Anyway I fitted it, did the pliers test, and wires pulled out! I've wired for 50years: this does not happen! If you look at pics, there are odd 'tangs' between screw and brass terminal block:[the terminals are NOT riveted on to the rails!] Kit arrives, with screw half-in, touching said tang - the cable is meant to squeeze in the remaining gap [just]. BUT, I always 'open' socket terminals, by unscrewing, to make room for the cables: resulting in the cables - unseen - going in the screw side of the tang....a recipe for disaster. [the tang bends down to the brass at an angle, ensuring the wires will slip out]. Be VERY careful, if you fit these sockets! The socket shutters are not only childproof; but, bombproof - an odd design. I actually had to spray silicone grease on before the plug would insert.I'll be kind, and call this 'an innovative, minimalist design': it turned a five-minute job into an hour; prompting the sacrifice - of a second unit - to show you the potential danger.

An easy way to change a single socket to a double.
A good value way of changing a single socket to a double. You receive the double socket, along with 2 screws and the white plastic caps to cover the screw holes. (Photo). Some reviews comment on the length of the screws? They were perfectly adequate in the one I received, so it's possible that if there was a previous issue, BG are now supplying a longer screw. This will fit any standard 1 gang back box.Obviously, as it fits over the back box, the socket will stand proud of the wall. In this case around 27mm.The switches are single pole. Only working on the line conductor. The switches feel nice and positive, with a good solid click to them.Make sure you don't over tighten the screws, the plastic can be a little brittle, so too much pressure could crack it.Overall, this is a good value, simple way of turning a one gang outlet into a double.I hope you found this review helpful.

Easy way of increasing number of sockets
This is my second one of these. Quality is fine, they take minutes to fit and they aren’t too bulky. Okay, it might be better to remove the old socket and pattress box, drill and chase out for a new double pattress box and fit a new double socket but with three of us working from home, having the power off for an extended time isn’t so practical.Simple, cost effective and quick to fit. What’s not to like.Every product I review is one I have purchased myself.I rely on unbiased reviews when making shopping choices so that’s exactly what you’ll get from me. Cumbersome To Fit but otherwise a good double socket.
Had a problem with this socket, which I have not come across before. Getting the wires into the terminal areas was not easy wires kept being pushed back out, anyway finally with a bit of patience you will get there. The screws that secure this socket to a wall Patrice need to be at least 2 mm longer as they barely had enough thread.Otherwise, does the job. In most sockets it's the rocker switch that usually goes, to be honest the switches in this socket feel better than many of the other top makes.Wiring is a little fiddly, although I do have another in the house but never had any problems fitting that one.Although easy to just cut out for a double patrice it's sometimes a drag, having one of these does make the job of changing a single socket to a double socket much easier, Although some might find that the socket stands a bit proud from the wall, however nothing to write home about its either that or chase the wall out for a slim fit double socket.
