Perfect way to play your nostalgic DVD collection
Despite the convenience of streaming services, my partner enjoys the nostalgia of putting on an old DVD, scrolling through the menus, and watching her vast collection of movies of which many are not readily available to stream. This little player is absolutely fantastic for that! It's nicely compact; in our case it can be conveniently tucked away between the back of the TV and the wall mount arm when not being used (this won't apply to every TV mount, so check the dimensions before buying). There are limited menu options which makes it great for plug & play usage - and let's be honest, it isn't priced towards the moviephile end of the market either. The picture quality is perfectly acceptable, though it difficult to judge given that DVDs have a lower resolution than even a mediocre stream, and your TV will probably have some auto scaling solution for anything that isn't played at it's native resolution. The USB power connector is a surprise, and is nice to have given the abundance of chargers and adapters we all have in our homes these days. The remote is very responsive and works well, butjit does rely on line-of-sight to the front of the player - bear that in mind when you picture tucking it away in a cupboard out of sight. The plastic body doesn't feel premium, because it's not premium. More importantly, the manufacturing tolerances are tight enough that the machine sits very flat on all 4 of its feel, with no rocking or wobbling to note. For the price, you really can't say fairer than that!Surprisingly, and really quite impressively, it's absolutely silent when in operation! The tray mechanism is reasonably quiet too, without that harsh sound that makes you worry if you'll be getting your discs back in one piece.

Brilliant little media player
The media could not be loaded. There is something special about having a physical copy of a DVD that you can hold in your hands, insert into a player, and watch on a screen. It feels more tangible and personal than streaming or downloading a digital file.Ibought this DVD player because I wanted a simple and affordable device that can play my old DVDs and CDs. It is compact and portable, and it comes with a USB-C cable as a power supply, which is very convenient. It also has a USB socket that allows me to play media files from an external memory. The remote control is simple and easy to use, and it has all the necessary functions. The DVD player can be connected to the TV by HDMI and chinch, and it delivers clear and crisp picture and sound. As a quick summary, I like:- small size: It is compact and portable, and does not take up much space.- cable usb-c as a power supply: It is convenient and compatible with many devices and outlets.- USB socket for connecting an external memory: It allows you to extend the possibilities of that DVD player and play media files from a flash drive.- a simple remote control containing all the necessary functions: It is easy to use.- can be connected with TV by hdmi and chinch bringing life to your old TV.- delivers high-quality picture and sound.I don't like:- It’s a pity that there is no adapter for Euro-Scart: It limits your options for connecting the DVD player to older TVs that use the Euro-Scart socket.

Seems good so far, one or two things to be aware of...
I really like the small size of this unit. Be aware that to get any kind of volume you will need to plug in the red and white cables as well as the HDMI, but you'll still need to turn the volume way up. Also the unit is likely to be completely unresponsive to controls, either the buttons on the unit itself or the controls on the remote, when first powered up: simply unplug it and power it up again and it should work properly. The one disadvantage I have noticed in use is that there's no way to tell how far along your programme is - no time counter, no progress bar etc., even on pause. However overall it works and seems reliable so far, is well priced and doesn't take up much space. I'm sure I'm not the only one whose TV has no DVD player but who still has a fair number of DVDs - this solves that issue!

The guy holding up the player must have big hands
Okay so I've only had the player for less than 30 minutes and I've yet to put it behind the TV where it should fit comfortably. Straight out of the box it was easy to set up one HDMI lead connection and a usb plug straight into the wall socket both supplied in the box as well a usb plug and audio/TV lead a remote control which needs two AAA batteries which took less time to get working than than it took to type this review after which I put a region one dvd which the player didn't even have time to hiccup before the title came up on the screen the picture isn't 4k but it's by far better than through the old scart connected DVD player I was using and by far better than I was expecting from something from this price range. in all it's quite an impressive player for its size and price although the model holding up the player to demonstrate it's size must have hands like dinner plates.

Great value for money
An amazing piece of kit for the price paid. I have recently bought a region 1 dvd collection ( my mistake ) and realised my existing bluray/ dvd player wasn't dvd region free! The tv set up and cabinet had limited space for any more appliances but then I saw this advertised. I checked the sizes and bought it. I am very impressed for the money I paid as the picture resolution and clarity is very good. I'm not sure if it's 1080p but it is very clear all the same. Includes HDMI and Av leads which is very useful. ( no batteries though but not a big deal )Altogether it does a good job and will be very good to use for the future.
