This cane does exactly what I was looking for. Have been using this cane for two weeks so I can not speak it’s durability but it works exactly as well as I was looking for a very affordable price. The weight of it is perfect for those with significant muscle loss and although most canes with a foot are awkward this really does perform like a human ankle and is wide enough to remain stable on hard surfaces. You should lean it if left on a rug surface. The light is perfect for looking where you’re stepping but not bright enough to use for looking very far straight ahead. Bright enough to be seen from a distance but it’s brightest focus is small so it is designed specifically to see where you are stepping rather than where you are going. It’s only flaw is it’s attachment after being broken down. It takes some dexterity and strength to tighten the assembly, in other words enough strength to tighten a knurled assembly point. Attachment points should be checked daily before use. I’ve already had the foot fall off once because I didn’t check it’s tightness and if other assembly parts come off you are definitely going down. This is not a deal breaker for me. In fact I am buying another to have a spare to keep in the car in case I forget and accidentally leave this one home. I would buy a third for my 94 year old mother but she likes her cane and would have trouble making sure the assembly points are tight enough. Batteries are standard watch type batteries easily found in most chain drug storesIn closing, a great value for a very affordable price.

I love this cane because I am tall (6'1") and it comes to the perfect height adjustment and is also collapsable. The adjustable flashlight is a huge plus for seeing in the dark at night inside and out. The only drawback with the cane is the fact that the base unscrews too easily from the bottom of the cane, and can create a bad fall risk. After it fell off a few times and having screwed it back on, I finally unscrewed it, put aa few drops of Crazy Glue Gel (which I happened to have) on the inner screws of the cane and on the stem of the base itself, tightened it by hand as tightly as I could, waited about an hour for it to completely dry, and voila, it's not fallen off ever again. Other types of glue may work as well, or teflon tape used for plumbing wrapped around the stem of the base might also work.

I left my last lightweight, collapsible can in a taxi in Mexico and wasn't able to have it returned. That was a (annoyingly named) "Hurry Cane" that I purchased from Walgreens for twice the price of this one. This cane (and I reserve my right to amend my review with time) so far seems a much better option. The base is more flexible and actually feels as though it cushions the impact while walking to it isn't as unpleasant on your arm/shoulder/elbow as was my previous cane. It absorbs the impact much as would insoles on your shoes, but still has the swiveling effect that was touted by the Hurry Cane. The grip is cushioned and it features the LED light, which is something I think will be an amazing upgrade from my last cane. I have arthritis in my hips, knees, and balance/stability issues from spinal cord compression, and this cane has been fantastic thus far, and the best part is that it was half the price of my previous cane. Should it fall apart or something I will definitely amend this review, but for the present I am completely satisfied.

Can't get the light to work.... otherwise, it's fine.....

The cane overall is good but the base is small and falls over doesn’t like to stand up. Bigger base is needed!!
