Like a Charm!
We recently replaced the banister and railing on our stairs and bought this fill stick to go with "Provincial" stain color we used on both. This blended in perfectly. I really have to look to see where this is covering up the finishing nails and even then, it is difficult to find. Loved this product.

Works Great
I bought this product because I had some areas on my kitchen cabinets that needed to be touched up. This product is very effective and easy to use. I believe it matched so well because this touch up marker was made by the same brand (Varathane) that was used on the cabinets in the kitchen. Highly recommended but I don't know that it would work as well with a stain that is a different brand.

Not good for Summer Oak.
We used the Summer Oak stain and used this to fill a few dings in the wood. This goes on super dark. Unless it lightens over time, which is highly unlikely, this does not match Summer Oak at all. Not even remotely close. The only way it would come close is if you laid down 4-5 coats of the stain (i.e. made it much darker). We did two coats of the stain.Giving it 3 stars because the actual filling process was pretty easy and it seems to be staying put really well.

Perfect match for Varathane Traditional Cheery Stain
Bought to fill nail holes in a piece of cheery stained with Varathane Traditional Cheery Stain. It was a perfect match and the nail holes disappeared.

Not enough color range
I have tried 3 colors in this so far and I can not get it to match Ipswitch. They are either too dark or too light but they miss the mark for what I need. They are easy enough to use but what is the point if you can't match the color?
