Q: Will this tach work with Pertronix ignition system (coil/distributor)?

Yes. I am using a Pertonix ignition on my 68 Mustang and have no issues with using this tach.

Q: Tach needle is sitting at 1500 rpm, still in the box. shouldn't it be sitting at zero?

Hi. According to instruction sheet "The pointer on your tachometer will not always rest at zero when the engine is off. This is normal.When the engine is started, the pointer will register the correct RPM." Hope this helps.

Q: My tach works accurately until 2000 rpm then jumps to redline i checked all connections but nothing?

Probably a bad tach get a new one

Q: has any one tried this on a subaru 2.5 engine ?

No. I installed on f100 truck. Should go on Subaru easily
