Magic 0301-30 Pipe Extender for 3" Pipe

I bought a house with a popup drain somewhere in the yard. Once my archeological expedition located the popup drain, I saw it was buried under inches of dirt. I went to a local hardware store looking for something to raise it up, but there was no solution. A quick search on Amazon showed this pipe extender. The price seemed a little high for such a small piece of plastic, but it was the only solution. Once the pipe extender arrived, I was surprised at the quality and thickness of the plastic. I have no worries about stepping on the popup drain and having this extender break. The wide end fit in the PVC 90 degree elbow and the three to four inch popup drain fit securely. I don't worry my mower will suck it up when mowing (it hasn't so far). My drain is still a little low, but that is not the fault of this drain extender. As I already mentioned, the popup drain was several inches underground. I may remedy this by digging out some of the grass and make it slope to the drain. I really don't want to try and raise the drain any higher.

Does what it says, is the rare type of fitting that reduces the size.

Worked great for a floor drain. I had a pipe that was stopped flush with the concrete floor. So I needed this fitting to make a connection on the pipe ID. I used PVC cement to secure it in place. From there I went on with normal PVC fittings like a coupling and pipe to extend the line.

Exactly what I was looking for to extend an outdoor drain without having to redo the concrete.

This worked as described; I realized afterwards that it wouldn’t do what I wanted as it does of course momentarily diminish internal pipe diameter at connection and create an internal lip so I didn’t want to risk a clog but that was no issue with product as advertised. Great fitting!
