Text matters in a manga, otherwise what good is sumptuous artwork if you can’t read the print? This manga series is impossible to put down! In fact, I was so hypnotized by the experience of this first in the series that I bought the entire set! I’m already up to the third volume. This series is a must have for any manga enthusiast. It’s spooky, haunting, ethereal, dream-like. For me, it’s allegory. But true Art is like that, provoking a Reaction. Demanding emotions from us who dare drink in each page.

Slow to start but an amazing series I binged in a few days
This series starts off slow but damn does it ramp up. I read the whole series in a few days, stayed up all night one day and read a ton of it. Sooooo good. I'd say it's similar to Tokyo Ghoul (for more than just supernatural reason, also because of the dark qualities in the themes and tones) but far superior. While I'm a big fan of Tokyo Ghoul, Happiness is just damn good quality storytelling. It's so dark and twisted and slightly romantic too. Very well written.

Like it but not in love with it YET . . .
This was a quick read. I did enjoy the story, but not one of my absolute favs. I will eventually check out the rest of the series.

The media could not be loaded. Highly recommend, plot is a bit slow but I only got this for the cover. 🤧

Weird Horror with One Qualm
This is a good weird horror manga by Shuzo Oshimi. My biggest qualm or annoyance I guess is the constant shots up a girl's skirt. It became obnoxious very early on. The story itself and following the character is a lot of fun, though, so I look forward to continuing in the series.

Very interesting vampire manga~!
With how Shuzo Oshimi created some of my favorite mangas - Flowers of Evil, as well as the two ongoing mangas, Blood on the Tracks and Welcome Back Alice... for this series, Oshimi taps into the realm of the supernatural for Happiness.Even though it's only 50 chapters long, Happiness is a nice addition to vampire-themed genre for manga, and it makes you wonder how far some of the characters are willing to go to achieve "happiness" for themselves. ^^
