This is an excellent melatonin. Liw dose works best for me. I used to use the TJ peppermint .5mg but they stopped making them. Higher doses have an opposite effect on me. I find that a lot of supplements also have nothing or too much supplement or sugar. 1 mg can be clipped into halves or honestly, it works easily as a 1mg tablet. It dissolves quickly , is peppermint but not sugary, and it is an excellent product. I also like source naturals, but these are less expensive and the dose option for lower is appreciated.

I tried 2 other name brand melatonin supplements. One made me feel completely drugged, the other actually kept me up the entire night... With this one I sleep deeply and wake up feeling rested for the first time in YEARS! So happy I didn't give up on trying to find one that would work for me! Others say it tastes bad, but I just put it under my tongue and it dissolves and has a very pleasant taste!!

More is better, right? Wrong, I had tried 10 mg melatonin and found it was not helpful for sleep. Worse yet, it had the side effect of making me feel depressed the next day. After doing some reading, I learned that 10 mg is far too high of a dose. The same is true for 5 mg. This product contains 1 mg of melatonin, and that is the correct dose. Happily, it helps me sleep.

This is just the right dosage, 1mg, and chewable means easy to use. The minty flavor is mild. I've been taking Melatonin for years without any ill effects to my knowledge: 1 dose as I get into bed, and after about 15 to 20 minutes of reading that's it, the light has to go out and I'm asleep within a few more minutes. I had insomnia as a teen which tamed down a little into my 20s, then by 30 I discovered Melatonin: been using it for 20+ years ever since then. Start small, like this 1mg dose.

UPDATE: I have to hand it to these guys. They are responsive. Shortly after I posted this review, I was contacted and offered a full refund. What a pleasant surprise. I will keep an eye out for the brand when I need other supplements. ORIGINAL REVIEW: It is hard to find low-dose (1mg) Melatonin. It is harder to find any that is palatable. My first try was pills that were oversized for the dose, uncoated, and hard to swallow. Stress-Relax Melatonin is better, as a chewable, but its peppermint flavor is weak and does not please. If there were no alternatives, this product would be only minimally acceptable. If you are looking, believe it or not, the best I have found is ZzzQuil Pure Zzzs Melatonin+ Chamomile & Lavender gummies. It says the dose is two gummies for 2mg, but I take one for only 1mg. They are not cheap, but coming from Vicks's I have higher confidence that they contain what they say, and they are the most palatable melatonin at 1 mg that I have found.
