This compound works well. I have two large potted plants and the little flies which hatch out of the compost are a re- occurring nuisance. So I coated the the surface of the compost with this "No Gnats " and the difference is brilliant. There are now very few or no flies at all. I keep re - adding the compound every few months . Well worth the money !

I cant complain this did do the trick, however you are left with a white layer on top of yhe soil for a long time after, this white layer seems to seal in the little bugs - all i know is i dont have them flying around any more but, i wasnt expecting my plants to have a white crusty layer

I wasn't convinced at first because the package hadn't been closed properly and the grit had spilled out, so I was annoyed. (Seller please note!) I put a very thick layer of the grit on the top of the soil of affected plants, and cut down the watering, and theres a lot less gnats. The plants are big, so I could get a good layer on top, im not sure how well the grit would work in small pots, because its the thickness of the grit that stops the gnats coming to the surface.

coming back a month later to report this worked superbly, so pleased and no need for pesticides. did as it said (probably a bit more than half an inch) and added a fly sticky pad as well to each effected pot. anyway a month later, no gnats at all. would buy again!

I purchased the LAVA-LITE NG3LTRB No-Gnats, Natural & Eco-Friendly Adult Gnat & Larvae Control, 3L, hoping it would solve my gnat problem. Unfortunately, it did the exact opposite. Instead of controlling the gnats, it seems to have provided them with a cozy new home in my plants. Despite following the instructions carefully, the gnats are still thriving. This product did nothing to break their life cycle or prevent them from laying eggs. It's frustrating to see no improvement after spending money on this so-called solution. I would not recommend this product to anyone dealing with gnats. Save your money and look for a more effective alternative.

I bought this as my landlord left me some indoor plants but I didn't like the little squatters they attract. Gnats. So I let the plants dry out completely as this stems the larvae hatching and then repotted in fresh compost before adding this on top. So far it's doing its job and there has been no annoying little flying pests getting in my face. In order to protect it's use water from the bottom. In all I'm pleased with this and this bag has done eight small to medium sized pots with plenty to spare for my two large ones to go. As you can see it has absorbed a little moisture but that's fine.

Better, but not perfect. This is certainly preferable to chemicals or the stink of neem oil, and the gnats have definitely reduced. There are still a number of gnats in the affected plant with smaller guys suggesting that reproduction is still possible.
