Thick-soled and good enough for trail running
I'm a minimalist aficionado, and have worn primarily minimal shoes for the last 10 years or so, so have already worked through the inevitable plantar fasciitis that newcomers will get (so calibrate this review accordingly).I took these sock shoes out for a trail run this morning, and found that they do a really good job staying on my foot without sliding, and the sole is thick enough that I didn't have any bruising from stepping on rocks. They did have some sideways slippage on one step I took, so beware that they are not as stable as regular shoes.I haven't worn these enough yet to know about their durability or whether they eventually start to stink, but I had a previous sock shoe with a thinner sole that developed a really bad smell after a few months and also started to crack in the sole after several months of trail running. But overall, for the price-point of these sock shoes, they tend to have a lower cost-per-mile than my other $100+ minimal shoes that won't last a year.

Best shows I've worn so far in my life
So, I bought my first pair and instantly fell in love with them. I've worn barefoot shoes for close to seven years... I think.. honestly, time flies for me. Anyways, I've worn them non-stop. I even use them for work, and I work for hours on end on my feet walking, busting my butt all the time, and they're the best shoes I've worn when it comes to working. (Don't try this unless your feet are strong enough walking barefoot for hours.. WORKING. And you actually know how to walk CORRECTLY barefoot. Definitely not for beginners.) I even took them to Cali for vacation up in the mountains where it was snowing with very slippery and icy floors. Out of everyone in the family, I was the only one who didn't slip lmfao there was one time I almost did, but it's like I had enough grip to stay put. Kept my feet warm enough at least, I didn't really feel cold.. but I was also wearing socks, but they were wet in the end. I legit had a great time with them regardless. I've took them also to hike in, and it was great! And even to Disney, you can just imagine those long walks lol Came back to Miami where it's mad hot, and I wouldn't dare wear these without socks because since it's so hot my feet would easily sweat and sweaty feet and this material it has inside feels mad slippery and uncomfortable if you're sweating. But when I wear socks they're AMAZING, and I got stable footing again compared to when i was slippering in them sockless which honestly i think i almost injured myself because of the lack of stable footing. I always have people talking about them because they look like socks, and they say they look mad comfortable.. which by the way THEY ARE. I already had two of my home boys try them out cause they were mad curious, they loved them. So i bought them a pair each cause they're mad cheap and a extra pair for myself lol and now I see my homeboys wear them like crazy as well. I already do see the bottom starting to wear off from the use I put in for my first pair, but I'll be honest.. I really did put a beating on them like no joke... so In a sense I'm not surprised, but they're cheap so they're way worth it. I do have cats and a dog that shed like crazy, so when I first got these shoes they attracted ALL the hairs on the rubber parts, but as it gets used up they stopped sticking as much, and now they don't seem to stick at all except the top parts but easily can be taken off from the wooven parts. They do tend to smell after a while, but since I wear socks, I also wash them, and I take care of my feet and spray it against things like athletes foot, it's not a deal breaker for me because i dont allow it to get to bad smelling. I've also ran with these, felt good and i felt secure even with gravel, but mainly short runs. I've yet to try it for long distance running so I wouldn't know how they would hold up for something like that. I haven't even used my Vivobarefoot shoes since I got these. To me.. that's saying a lot because that's all I used to wear for years.

Really like these
These are truly barefoot shoes. There is no support and nothing between your feet and the floor except your socks and a thin layer of "rubber". I was having lots of foot problems and the more cushion I added, the worse my feet were. I bought these in all black along with the Whitin minimalist shoes. I could only wear these for a short time around the house in the beginning but can wear them all day now and sometimes forget I have them on and wear out to run errands. Feet have improved drastically with the combo of shoes. I still throw on my crocs now and then when my feet need more cushion or warmth but these are great and will buy again if these fall apart, which I can't see happening any time soon.

Phenomenal!!!
If you are a wearer of barefoot shoes, you MUST try these! I’ve been wearing barefoot shoes for over two years now, and although I prefer any barefoot shoe over a “regular” shoe, these are my first choice every time. They really have a barely there feel. But what really prompted me to write this review is how well they are holding up to hours upon hours of daily wear. I wear them to work 8+hrs a day, and on weekends, and I have never had ANY shoe (barefoot or not) show so few signs of wear. Usually I would see the soles start peeling off around the edge, even for expensive, “professional” “work” shoes. These are performing as well as the day I got them. I will say there are worn down patches on the soles in the shape of my foot, simply from takings so many thousands of steps in them. They won’t last forever, but this is to be expected. I have had no tears in the cloth, undoing of the hem around the ankle, or peeling of the rubber soles around the edge. I’d buy them in every color if I could. Truly a phenomenal pair of shoes.PS, I have relatively narrow feet and do not require a very wide toe box. These are foot-shaped and do not constrict my toes at all, but for wider feet they may be a bit tight.

Sticky Soles
The soles on these shoes are very sticky. Just doing a test fit, walking 5 steps in my house, picked up several cat hairs, specks of fluff, and whatever dirty they could find. I can't image how messy they would look walking around outside or at a store. They also grip the floor, almost too well. Your typical shoe, sock or even barefoot will slide a little on a flat surface. Not these. They also make an "un-sticking sound" when lifted off the floor.Perhaps these would be good on rocky terrain where you want super grippy shoes. Or perhaps the sticky would wear off after some use. But at least out of the box, I didn't like the way moved on the floor. They were however super comfy elsewise

I'm divided
Bought the green ones for $40 in March. First time buying any kind of minimalist shoes. On one hand, they are very comfortable. They're essentially socks with a rubber sole that wraps around the feet a little. I can throw them on as fast as putting on sandals, but they're warmer, so perfect for spring around here. I've used them to go on walks in the neighbourhood, and they worked well.I don't know how "barefoot-like" minimalist shoes can get, but I'd say the feeling of the ground is about half-way between being barefoot and being in typical running shoes. You'll be able to walk on small rocks with these that you'd avoid if you were barefoot. The cons is that they breathe very poorly, so they get warm. They work better in colder weather. Due to getting warm, the feet gets clammy. And due to the rubber not breathing well, a smell can develop. They look ok, but I can't say that they look great. The rubber going around the feet makes them look odd I think.I see them as a temporary solution for me. If I'm not going to be walking barefoot, then I'd rather do it in something with a more conventional look.I may edit my review when I get more usage out of them. I saw that the more popular similar product, the Skinners, are supposed to only last 100 miles, which seems very low to me. If you walk 10 km a week, that's only 16 weeks of usage.

I've Fallen in LOVE with these
I've been getting into barefoot/minimalist shoes recently, and thought these would be a great dive into the deep end. While not an advanced barefoot shoe, they make for a GREAT beginners barefoot shoe. If you are someone who has been wearing minimalist shoes for quite a while, I don't think you'll enjoy these quite as much. (You'd be better off just getting the original Shoe Socks from Skinners.)Now, about the shoe...THE SOLEThese are a lot more durable and thick then they look in pictures. The rubber is THICK and the nylon is heavy. You can still feel every pebble and crack on the ground, but its still more on the thicker side compared to other barefoot shoes. You may or may not like that. After a few hours I found myself getting used to it. I looove feeling everything on the ground while my feet still feel cushioned and protected. So as a beginner, its great.BREATHIBILITYLike other reviewers have said, these shoes are not breathable allllll. But that doesn't really bother me personally since I'm only using them for a few hours at a time. I think it would get pretty rough if you were wearing these for an entire day out camping though.TOE BOXThe toe box isn't very big, but its wider then a regular shoe. As a female wearing these it's ideal. Its wide enough that my feet aren't squished and my toes having ample space, but its not so wide where it might affect how I move around. (My toes still aren't spread out yet, so shoes with reaaaally big toe boxes still feel a bit like clown shoes for me.)WHAT DO I USE THESE FOR?These are quickly becoming my favourite shoes. Hoooly crap. I freaking love how much dexterity and control of my feet I have with these shoes on. I use them mainly for running and quick errands. But I also like them for parkour and weight training. I even ran my first 5k in these! (It was a great experience, no issues and my feet actually got a work out. Never in my life has it felt like my feet actually worked out thoroughly before.) I love the freedom these shoes give me. When I think of my old runners with their massive heels, I can't believe I let myself walk in stilts for so freaking long. My feet were made for these.DO THESE GET ATTENTION?I'm in the city, I get some puzzled looks sometimes, but nobodies ever actually questioned me or "stopped traffic" about it. At most I've had a friend ask me why I don't have shoes on lol.Overall I really enjoy these shoes! I highly recommend them if your new to the barefoot shoes world.
