AnolonNouvelle Copper Nonstick Fry Pan/Hard Anodized Skillet, 8.5 Inch, Dark Gray

Q: This skillet looks deeper than most skillets this size - what is it's actual depth? What is the diameter of the flat bottom? Thanks :-)

Pan depth, measured from inside the pan, is just under 2 and 1/2 inches. It is deeper than most of my standard pans. Diameter of the bottom, measured from one side of the copper disc to the other, is just under 8 and 1/2 inches. The actual surface that touches the burner is 7 and 1/2 inches. I'm guessing the copper ring spreads the heat out evenly, but have not had enough use to give an opinion based on experience. If you are looking for a quality fry pan that is compact to medium size and easily handled, my best advice is that this is not what you are looking for. If you want something a little larger for cooking family meals or larger amounts at a time, then I would recommend this item without hesitation.

Q: In one of the pictures it shows a lid. Do these come with the lids?

No lids came with this set of cookware. I just love them and I put another lid from my cabinet to cover the skillet when cooking. G.C. Barb answered on Sept 4, 2014

The Anolon Nouvelle Copper Hard Anodized Nonstick 8-Inch and 10-Inch Open Skillets are wonderful for eggs. The 8 inch has a height of 1 and 3/4 inch and the 10 inch is 2 inches in height. That is measured from bottom of skillet to top of skillet laying on counter. You can make eggs without any butter or oil and they don't stick. Very satisfied with the brand.

Q: why you believe is good quality

Well, it is easy to clean, even heating, heavy for its size. I have been very happy with it. i hate induction stoves, but if I have to use one, this is a good pan.
