Cliff Richard: Private Collection 1979-1988

I was in England when I first heard Cliff Richard. I have always liked his music. This has most of his hits that I like. The big bonus for me is it has his duet with Don Everly, and it is really special. I highly recommend this CD.

Can't go wrong with this fabulous collection. It's got all the ones that were successful in the U.S. There's not a disappointment here. Has a few that we didn't get here in the U.S., but they are also winners. Love this song collection.

Much appreciated

I picked this up mostly for the theme to the Carrie (the original movie, not either of the remakes), but it also has a couple other hits I remember from my youth "Dreamin" and (from Xanadu, in duet with Olivia Newton John) "Suddenly" If you like older soft rock, this is a pretty good collection.

And I mean that! Cliff Richard has one of the most incredible voices I have ever heard in my life! If you like good 80s pop songs (from 1979-1988); you are missing out on a tremendous talent by not having this CD. Like me; several of you will remember three songs here. The outstanding duet with Olivia Newton-John called, Suddenly, plus you will also remember, Dreamin, and, We Don't Talk Anymore, but I think there are songs here that are just as good or even better than those three so I'll list a few of them. Little Town, and, Mistletoe And Wine, are beautiful tunes for the Holiday Season. The songs, Some People, True Love Ways, and his stunning duet with Sarah Brightman called, All I Ask Of You, are three more that are great and Sir Cliff's voice will send chills down your spine on, Daddy's Home, and, Ocean Deep. Speaking as a customer; I'm saying these songs are gorgeous. Several of these tunes are perfect to share with that special someone in your life.....Yes they are that romantic. I know my spouse sure loves this music.....Highly Recommended. Final Note: Like the songs; the sound quality on this Disc is super!

The private collection is a greatest hits of sorts but is also a collection of music he performed and recorded by other artists. Was worth the money

I'll leave the compiliation and individual tracks to other reviewers and just say I think this is a great selection from what I believe is his best decade. However, and building on another review theme, the sound quality on the CD I bought (albeit second hand) is too compressed - not horrendously, but noticeably. The 80's production is there, obviously, but it's reproduced here far too hard, too mechanistically - in a nutshell, too "digitised". Compare Carrie, here, to The Whole Story, which packs plenty of tracks into an equally small space; the latter sounds better. The stereo imagery, depth and coherence on analogue recordings is sadly becoming a relic of a passing generation, it seems, but the lavish full colour productions afforded to high profile artists are still accessible when properly "pressed" to CD. Caveat: as alluded to earlier, being second hand this could be a copy, though it looks original enough. Still, if you're one of the 98% who don't give a fig about sound quality, probably better to buy the video (sorry, DVD) instead.

J'étais juste à la recherche d'un best of de la période eighties de Cliff Richard. Cette compile comble tout à fait mes attentes. il doit bien y avoir quelques versions maxis pas édités en CD hélas, mais pour le moment, ça me convient tout à fait.

Good CD

Die CD ist sehr gut. Die Verarbeitung ist es auch. Auch wenn ich mich wohl durch den Kauf als Dino geoutet habe.
