Review: Impressed! Healthy and Delicious! - This book has been a life saver. I'm currently tracking calories along with macro nutrients and weight lifting four times per week. I've built a few weeks worth of meal plans from only this book. Every recipe I've tried has been absolutely delicious! The shredded chicken is easy, good and so versatile. The desserts, shakes and bars are also easy. I prep everything for the week then grab and go. No guess work, no wondering what I'll eat which makes tracking super simple. No special ingredients for most lunch/dinner recipes. But for some pancake, dessert and bar recipes you may need some things you don't have stocked like psyllium husk powder, almond/coconut flour or flax seed. It may seem like a lot at first but you'll use them again and again. I can't wait to try every recipe, thank you so much Kendall!! Review: Awesome cookbook - This cookbook is perfect for your fitness goals and to not get sick and tired of the same old-same old chicken, rice, broccoli, sweet potato. I love this book, recipes are easy to follow, do not need a million ingredients and they're fun to make. My husband loves them as well. The orange chai chicken is seriously the best baked chicken we've ever had, the crispy chicken with sweet mustard sauce is awesome too. Also had the raspberry orange smoothie. She gives recommendations for cooking, prep, shelf life, and how to make it fit in either before or after working out. Buy this cookbook, you won't regret it one it. It will not be one to sit on a shelf, I can see this being a go-to cookbook for years to come.

B+ Cookbook
I would have to say overall I liked this book a lot. The first chapter is a great introduction into nutrition. With key points such as: muscle building food, principles of a bodybuilding diet, and how to make your goals work. The author provide some great formulas on how to determine your caloric and protein need so you can tailor a meal plan that best suits you and your fitness goals. The formulas are great and but are only use full if you Fat-Free Mass. This can be obtained either by having a personal trainer (this is probably the most accurate way to obtain) or having a someone else measure you. I thought the formulas were great but a little hard to follow. I'm more of a visual person and would have loved for there to be actual example showing how the formulas work. I tried using the formulas but got lost and didn't have anything to reference to know if I was doing them correctly or not. So I basically purchased this cookbook based on the cover photo of their Slow Cooker Beef Stew. Let me say this recipe did not disappoint! Loved it in every way. That being said for me the rest of the recipes are hit or miss. Over all there are a few that I like and have successfully tried (Breakfast Casserole, Turkey Satay Skewers, etc.). But other than the Slow Cooker Beef Stew I didn't find any other standout recipes. I've been eating clean and exercising for a couple of years now and was looking to expand on my nutrition knowledge and add some more recipes to my repertoire. Unfortunately this was not the book to get me there. It does have some great information and recipes, which I would recommend more for someone getting started on their fitness journey.

Love it!!
So far, so good! I've cooked about six recipes from this book & have been pleased with every one! This is really a no-frills, excellent, basic cookbook. No fancy ingredients. The turkey sausage recipe in this book was the most flavorful turkey sausage I have ever made!! I highly recommend this book to any and everybody looking to eat clean. One of the best qualities about this collection of recipes, is that my entire family can eat this food! My children are six and eight years old, and they have loved everything I have made so far. I have a feeling that several of these recipes will be in regular rotation on the menu at my house. The only drawback is what others have said: There are no photos! While I enjoy salivating over food pictures, it probably made this book far more affordable to print & I think it's priced well, so I wouldn't deduct any stars. :)

Great recipes that are low cal and high protein.
This is exactly the book I have been looking for to get me out of my food rut. I like to weight train and I have a goal I’m trying to reach. Diet is a huge part of that goal and I was struggling to have more variety. Most body building cook books are geared more towards men and are just too high on the calories, I can’t make it work with my macros for the day. This book has great low-cal recipes for all meals and even dessert!

it's a great book to read and has meal plans
It's got recipes but no pictures, it's a great book to read and has meal plans. I just wish there was pictures to go with it. Kinda disappointed. Recipes look good, just wish I had a picture to guide me or something.

There are so many things I love about this book but here are some to share ...
This is not just a cookbook, it is a manual. There are so many things I love about this book but here are some to share with anyone who is wondering why should I buy this cookbook when there are so many out there: 1. f you are a bodybuilder you don't need anything except maybe a professional to take your anthropomorphic measurements and basically off you go. Everything else you need is in the book! 2. if you are not a bodybuilder but a fitness enthusiast who worked hard to lose weight on a very bland diet that is leaving you sometimes drained of energy (and binging on peanut butter at 10pm), and now want to build some muscle, improve your physique and/or maintain it with oh so tasty food, stop here and buy the book.:) You'll love the tastes, and the increase in energy levels! 3. if you are a parent too who is trying to eat right and not have to cook two separate dinners this book is going to simplify your life. My entire family eats this food now. Even my six year old son! My daughter is in love with turkey stroganoff and crab cakes, my husband loves stuffed cabbage (our slavic family favorite) and the pot roast...so many more to explore :) I have tried more than few recipes from this book and can't decide which recipe is I love more...well, I am addicted to the pre-workout shakes, especially the blueberry beet one! Man, do I feel amazing working out after one of those! The honey nut is awesome too, and, oh, the power bars.... Anyway, this is an honest and straight forward book. No embellishments, just facts, and if you follow the steps you will feel and see the results. Bon Apetit!

All around solid cookbook
I came in with low expectations, figuring I would see an endless list of dull, uninspired, and tasteless recipes that I've seen on two dozen websites. I got blown away quickly, and have made about five at this point. The recipes are simply written, straightforward, and call for things you can get at your local big-box grocery store or warehouse club. While I'm not certain it was intentionally written that way, a good chunk of the recipes come in under $5/serving. Most of them scale up nicely- I personally have gotten into the habit of making the pork loin chili verde once a week and keeping it as my "snack" food with a dollop of Greek yogurt. Everything is adaptable if you've got even a little kitchen skill, too. It's got enough recipes in it that it's a great book to peruse. This is a great book if you're looking for fitness fuel that won't leave you bored, or if you're just looking to make your kitchen fare a bit healthier.

Very well thought out (except the stevia)
First of all, I think the organization of the table of contents is fantastic- I'd love to see more cookbooks which clearly lay out the nutritional information in this way. It's great if I am trying to hit certain macros in a given day, and I want an at-a-glance overview of the recipes to help me choose what I want to cook/eat. Next, I appreciate the sample menus divided by objective (building muscle, burning fat, maintaining weight, quick & easy). Most of the recipes in here do not require a lot of active prep time. Many are also ready quite quickly. There are also lots of useful tips throughout the book, like freezing instructions, or timing advice (e.g. ideal post-workout snack). The recipes call for good ingredients (not many obscure items), are diverse, and are appealing. All in all, a really well-thought-out cookbook. My one complaint is that a lot of these recipes seem way over-sweetened. Many recipes call for granulated Stevia in VAST quantities (3 TBSP, 1/2 Cup, etc). Personally, I don't like the taste of Stevia, and given that it's 600x sweeter than sugar, these quantities seem a bit off, like she subbed stevia in for something else at the last moment. In some recipes, like the cucumber salad, which calls for half a cup of Stevia, I think I would leave it out entirely, and add a teaspoon or two of sugar or erythrirol if need be. That'll obviously be harder to do when it comes to the various doughs and batters...ordinarily I'd knock a star off for this, but the rest of the book is so well done, I'll let it slide.

Best book purchase of the year!
I'm so glad I took the chance and bought this book. It's given me so much inspiration for preparing tasty meals with health and fitness in mind. It's American based but I haven't found this to be an issue. I've had no problem sourcing ingredients and to be honest the ingredients are simple, nothing that really hard to find. I love that it's gluten free since I have a gluten intolerance. I also have a whey intolerance so I substitute whey protein with plant protein - it may take a bit of adjustment with liquid etc but not by much and you'll get the knack. I've enjoyed every recipe i've tried. Some play dislike the fact that the recipes have no photos but don't let this deter you. They don't need photos. If you're into fitness, bodybuilding or just want to keep a healthy, trim body don't hesitate. Get this book!

I use this book DAILY
The book is informative, easy to read, and an excellent nutritional guide for the beginner or advanced bodybuilder (or athlete) or for anyone that just wants to eat healthier! It has great tips on the importance of protein, counting calories, meal prepping and planning. It even offers a helpful meal plan scheduled breakdown based on your goals; Muscle Building, Fat Burning, or Maintain Weight. I bought this book in Feb 2019 not knowing what to expect, but wanting help with making more nutritional choices when it came to physical activity and eating well. I started casually experimenting with the recipes. I found all the recipes are easy and to make, and most of them are pretty quick to do. It's a diverse book covering recipes for; breakfast, lunch, and dinner, as well as separate sections for meal sides, dessert, shakes, and bars. It's now June 2020, and over time I've come to use this book DAILY and have tried everything from front to back. There are a handful of recipes that didn't win me over, but TONS more that are delicious and nutritious. The snacks and desserts recipes are a life saver, and even my wife loves it and finds it easy to use. Big thanks to the author for this book!!

Delicious but healthy food! Highly recommend!!
Loving this cook book! I’ve had some really delicious meals using the recipes inside, there is a lot of other helpful info on building muscle etc too. A couple of down sides, nothing major but just enough to lose a star for me - the units are American (cups?), although there are conversions at the back, this doesn’t always help (how do I measure 100ml of cabbage? Liquid, yes. Solid, no). The other thing is no pictures of each recipe, neither are the end of the world but would definitely be welcome improvements, particularly the conversions!
