Excellent for reviving wood furniture!
Definitely gave our old baby grand piano a great refresh!! Conceals most surface scratches and helped revive the edges that were worn down. A great product for real wood finishes!!

Love this stuff
I love this stuff. This is now my third bottle that I've purchased. It does wonders on darker grains. They don't even have to be super dark like the color of the bottle. Just any darker wood that is not like your untreated or light pine-colored woods... I will continue to use this product on my darker woods. It conditions and cleans beautifully, while also keeping the color fresh. Most people will probably want to use gloves when using this product, as it does stain the skin. However, it does seem to wash off pretty good (and quickly) even when it gets on your skin.I'm including photos of different vintage wood boxes and a vintage side table as an example of the different types of woods and colored woods that I use this product on. I trust this product with my vintage items. Also, I included a mirror I made as a kid over 30 years ago. These are examples that this product works with different woods and stains and not just "really dark wood." It's also evidence of how much I trust this product to use it on items that have great sentimental value to me.Yes, I absolutely recommend this product.

Amazing product, covers scratches perfectly
I love this stuff! Nothing can replace old English when it comes to covering up scratches and scuffs. Made my very used coffee table look brand new.

Not great for scratches but it works miracles on faded furniture!
This product doesn't do a great job at coving scratches and dings, especially small chips/gouges in new wood. The dye just isn't strong enough and it doesn't have any volume to fill gouges like a crayon would for example. That said: This has been a miracle at restoring my faded and damaged wood! I picked up a set of Ethan Allen chairs at a thrift store and they were in bad shape-- bleached, scratched, faded, gouged, scraped, even peeling in places. Instead of just applying the Old English Scratch Cover spot by spot, I just got a paper towel and wiped it over almost the whole chair. Beautiful results! So much easier than re-staining and the chairs have been brought back to life! And unlike staining, I didn't have to strip or worry about matching the color because the color blends in so well. Plus a lot less mess. It also improved the surface of the wood. It definitely conditions the wood, instead of just dying or covering. It takes more than one coat, so you will have to use this a few times, especially for scratches.Incidentally, I also used this to dye leather shoelaces a darker color, and that worked well too, although it made them a little waxy/slippery and the color bled until I let them dry a few days and wiped them down thoroughly. For more severe damage, I've found better results if I let it soak in for a bit before I wipe it all off. It goes without saying but don't sit or touch clothing to the wood surface until this has dried. For scratches or water rings, I'd apply it fairly thick and let it sit, like about the thickness of the minimum oil you'd need to cook an egg with. Then wait a few hours and wipe it away. Then I use regular old english wood protector over it, making sure my paper towel isn't coming up brown before I sit on it.I LOVE this product so I'm giving it 5 stars, BUT beware that if you're buying this to fix a specific little scratch or ding, it doesn't work all that well for that purpose, despite what it is advertised as.

Excellent product for covering up scratches.
This stuff works great to cover scratches and leaves a beautiful shine. A little goes a long way. Just put a little on a rag and rub it onto wood.

Reasonable results.
I think I saw someone suggest this on Instagram so I thought I’d give it a try. It does work nicely. A little goes a long way. You rub a bit onto your worn out wood and it does kinda revitalize the color. You have to let it dry and then wipe the excess off. When I wiped it off it looked a bit different, but nothing drastic. You do have to wipe the excess since it’ll come off on you. It was worth the effort over all.

Great furniture polish, scratch cover!
I recently got some dark walnut furniture out of storage, and it needed some serious TLC. Not only was it suffering scratches from before, but it was definitely showing signs of having been stored too long. I didn't want to spend a lot of money on a professional restoration effort, so I decided to see what I could do for it on my own. That's where this product came into play. The wood had lost its luster and was even showing some slight signs of surface mold, so I dabbed a bit of this Old English on a cloth and attacked a panel to see what would happen. It was like magic. The wood came back to life, the dimmed parts I suspected were mold disappeared, and the whole panel looked rich and alive and happy. I was pretty shocked, to be honest, so I thought there must be another shoe to drop. I mean, how can this one product breathe new life into old moldy stored wood items with one application? Can't happen. So I waited a few hours and then went and checked the panel fully expecting it to be dried out and dull. But no, it was still beautiful. Hmph, I said to myself, it'll be back gasping for air in the morning. But nope, it was still gorgeous. So I waited a week. Still lovely.Okay, it was time to do the whole piece, plus every other piece that I had rescued from nearly ten years of storage. The results are stunning. Sure, I used a lot of this product, but I had a lot of pieces, and they are all gorgeous now, with new life and shine. As for the scratch coverage, one piece did have a pretty significant scratch (almost a gouge, really) that this product was not really up to disappearing, but it's now much less noticeable, and all the surface scratches and discoloring are completely corrected. I couldn't be more pleased. I will never not have this product in my home. It's a life-saver for wood furniture, no matter how old or neglected it was before being rescued and brought back to life.
