Q: My 2011 vw jetta key was stolen, do i need the key to install this? i figure a system like this is much cheaper and more convenient than a new key.

hi, you need to release or unlock the steering wheel lock, and you can use a key blade to insert into the ignition cylinder then turn it to ACC position to release it, or remove the steering wheel. Besides, If there is a chip immobilizer in your car OEM key fob, you need to have an extra key & also need to buy an extra bypass module in order to make the kits working well. Please note that this is not a plug & play item and you need to connect all the necessary wires of it. Due to complexity of installation of this item, which required to be installed by a professional car alarm installer or trained alarm installer if you have no alarm installation experience, please check if you can find one or not before purchasing. And you can find an alarm installer in your local town or search “car alarm installation” on amazon.com to find the installer nearby. Q: Am I able to walk away from the car and leave it on without having to leave the key fob inside?

Yes you can! However, if you shut down the vehicle without the key fob near, you will not be able to restart the vehicle. This happened to me..... I went with my boyfriend to his work, he had the keyfob in his pocket. He came out the vehicle, I jumped into the driver seat and drove home without any issues. Got home, shut off the vehicle. I stepped out the vehicle and the door locked up. Then I realized I didnt have the keyfob nearby. 🙄

Q: Can i modified to put on a motorcycle?
