These things feel like they were forged from clouds. The hat sits on my head and blocks the sun. The aeration in the upper section feels like the Wings of Hermes themselves are fanning my scalp as I tend to my crops in the yard. (Also great survival hat)

I always wore baseball caps when mowing the lawn or doing outside activities. But I’d still have to sunscreen my neck or I’d burn.This covers both my face and neck very well. I don’t even have to wear sunglasses if I don’t want to.

I purchased for my boyfriend who can’t quit talking about how cool, comfortable, and sun protective this hat provides! Great price as well!

Not comfortable, not easily foldable for travel. Not attractive

I'm a 68-year old male who spends most of his time in the yard/garden when the weather permits. Since skin cancer is a concern at my age I always wear a wide brimmed hat to protect my ears, scalp (thinning hair), face and neck. I also like a ventilated hat that allows some cooling air flow through the top of the hat. Based on other reviewers' comments, I must also have a big head since the hat fits me perfectly without adjustment although adjustment is available by means of a cord that tightens the circumference of the hat band. The hat's brim is wide enough to provide the protection I want without being so wide as to get in the way or cause it to be a small kite and fly away. The product description states that the hat needs to be hand washed. For me that's not a problem as I sweat profusely and normally just wash my hats by taking them with me when I shower after being out in the yard. I actually think the hat looks good but at 68 years hold, who the heck am I going to impress by wearing a "stylish" hat? I normally buy a couple of wide brimmed hats a year at a local big box sporting goods store. At the time of my review the retail price wasn't listed but anything under about $20 would make this hat a good buy. Highly recommended if under $20.

This hat says it is "medium" and 55-60cm circumference. A hat size of 7 1/4 is 57.8cm. It fits my bald head with a little slip around the band, but if you have hair, it would be sung, perhaps too snug, even tight. However, I also tend to like my fishing, sun type hats to fit more loosely, so I would order a large if I had t do it again.I can't really find anything wrong with this hat. It seems to be a a quality constructed product with nice material. For $14.00 at the time of review, you really can't beat it.

I hike a lot in the desert and always have a hat in my car or in my backpacks (I have several for different types of hikes) because you don’t want to go out in the sun here without a protective hat on your head. Skin cancer is prevalent here and the top of your head, the tops of your ears, and your nose are three of the most common places to develop melanoma. As a result, I have several sun hats such as this one.This hat is not bad; the overall quality of the hat, based on its construction and materials used, is average. The brim is fairly flexible whereas many similarly priced hats are stiffer, more like cloth-covered cardboard. While this isn’t among the best brims I have, it’s not among the worst either; it’ll do especially after you’ve rolled it around a bit.I like the snaps on the side that hold the brim up when you don’t want full coverage. The other essentials are there, an adjustable neck tie so that it does not fly off your head in the wind (these hats, with their wide brims, become airborne rather easily) and an adjustable elastic drawstring to tighten around your head for a good fit. It also has a mesh strip around the hat to help the hat release the heat from your head and/or to let a breeze in. The fabric is UPF rated for 50+, but my issue here is that after a few times being washed, rained on, falling in streams, etc, that protection is gone and you don’t really know when that occurs. As a rule of thumb, I think that the protection will be diminished, or gone, after 10 wet experiences, such as being washed or falling in the water. In any case, while I like the UPF protection, I don’t count on it for very long, it’s a chemical coating that will wear off after a while which is common across all clothing products that make a UPF claim.My one issue with this hat is that it is big, that is, the crown is large. It can be tightened with the drawstring to stay on your head, but there’s still a lot of fabric that just flops around on the top of my head and, while there’s nothing wrong with that on a functional basis, it looks a bit silly on me.On the other hand, if you have a larger than average head or if you sport a large hairdo such as an afro or beehive (are they still a thing?) this may be the hat you’re looking for.
