Aquatec 5851-7E12-J574 0.7 GPM 60 PSI 3/8 inch JG 115V Delivery/Demand Pump with Cord

This is an excellent pump, cuts in half the time it takes to fill a glass from the refrigerator. As it came, the pump comes on when the pressure drops to 40 psi and off at 52 psi. There is a small screw that will adjust the cutoff pressure up to 60 psi. My only complaint was the noise, and boy, was it LOUD, even down in the basement under the kitchen. Aquatec was very good at suggesting solutions, none of which helped. I put the pump in an acoustic foam-lined enclosure, and foam insulation on the feed line. Better, but still loud. Seemed to be some pulsing at the RO water faucet when the pump was running and the feed line was vibrating. Could there be some back pressure? So I put a check valve between the RO feed and the pump inlet. I went upstairs and tried running water from the refrigerator. At first I thought the pump wasn't running, though the pressure stayed up. SILENCE!!! It was running, but I could just barely hear it if it was absolutely quiet in the kitchen. Wow, what a difference. There is a little bit of a restriction in the check valve, so it takes a little longer to top up the tank, and I know there is a check valve in the pump, but you have to hear the difference to believe it. Pump location: Mounted where a lazy-Susan cabinet would normally be in a slab on grade home. Application: Demand pump for an RO system. The pressure to my fridge/ice maker left a lot to be desired. I coupled this pump with a 4 gallon RO tank to supplement my 14 gallon tank. When I first installed this pump, I installed in rigidly to a piece of extra red oak that I had laying around that was mounted to two studs in the wall. As other posters mentioned, the pump was LOUD!! Between the vibrations in the lines to the reverberations through the studs in the wall i was NOT impressed. Below mounting method wont work for everyone, but it worked beautifully for me. I headed to my local big box store to find a solution. I came home with a set of air compressor vibration pads (rubber lined cork squares) and some pipe insulation for 1/2 pipes (my RO system has 3/8 lines..). *Step 1: lay pads on floor & mount pump on top of pads. DON'T ancor pads to cabinets or concrete floor.* *Step 2: Wrap pipes with the afore mentioned pipe insulation. Thats it! Between those two tricks, I can barely hear the pump running. I have excellent water pressure and zero complaints.

This pump, coupled with the Aquatec Pulsation Dampener Accumulator Tank (recommended for booster pumps) is an ideal combination for those scenarios where a Reverse Osmosis System has a long way to distribute water. Ours is installed in a basement, about 25’ from the faucet, and 20-50’ from 3 refrigerators. Designing our home, we did have the plumbers run 1/2” PEX from the R/O to each refrigerator and the faucet. Our R/O system is designed to put out good flow and pressure, and it does but the distance slowed the supply flow down. Now the R/O water comes out fast and steady at every point of use. The pump is very quiet, but if installed where vibrations can resonate through wood or other mountings, use some soft rubber isolation pads. We can’t even detect its running for anywhere upstairs. The dampener tank is very helpful if using these pumps the and R/O water goes to a fridge, as the flow is sometimes intermittent or low and some ice makers are problematic with that. The John Guest push lock fittings are perfect for the common 3/8” or even 1/4” tubing. The Big Bonus……These products are made in the USA!!!! Great buy!

We use this in conjunction with our reverse osmosis system to provide proper pressure of that filtered water to the refrigerator/icemaker. Its a powerful pump that gives us about 60psi to the fridge at all times. Ours is mounted under the house, on a joist, about 3 feel away from the fridge. There is noise, but its as hidden as it could be. It only has noise when operating, and it does come with rubber mounting feet to dampen any vibration when you mount. We only hear noise when we're listening for it, but it might need some other form of noise suppression if you choose to mount this above grade (like in a cabinet). The install is straightforward and labeled with an in and an out port. It can be mounted vertically, horizontally, or upside down, as long as the water flow is correct. There is also a micro adjustment screw that will allow you to fine-tune the pressure cutoff level. This is a must have for anyone using RO water in their refrigerator/icemaker.

Added to our RO filter system to boost pressure. Previous added Permate pump with higher rated ASOV which helped with tank pressure and production speed but still limited to around 35PSI, with 60PSI input. This pump is installed between my primary tank and a smaller tank. There is some pump chatter as it reaches pressure but that stops once it get to final pressure. Water flow is greatly increased at the faucet. Time to fill a glass is easily cut in half. It's definitely not the cheapest pump but definitely seems to be built well and should last a long time.

Does what it says it will do. An excellent fix for a fridge which is starved for water pressure from an RO supply. This made my output 4x faster and finally resolved a long time issue I tried every other trick in the book to resolve. Not enough to take a star away, but I was kind of counting on the fittings being 90° as shown rather than straight. But was able to make it work. I do also think they could have supplied mounting hardware for the price. Four screws certainly wouldn’t consume their margin on this product. You will notice noise, but hardly intolerable. I’ll gladly accept it to fill a 16oz cup in 30s rather than 3 minutes like before.

Great pump. Quiet and works well. Put it after the RO and inline with an additional storage tank. Now there is a LOT of pressure. Installed it in the i-joists with my RO system. Pump runs maybe 10 seconds after getting water just to build the pressure back up. Only downside is there is NO good documentation on how to adjust the allen screw. Does screwing it increase shut off pressure or increase turn on pressure?

Yes just like everybody said this item is a bit on the loud side so it's best to put some cushioning underneath it maybe something like a knee pad for gardening. But that being said I would probably have to say stay away. I don't like to leave a review five minutes after receiving the product Oh, it's not realistic. I like to let a significant amount of time pass by to let people understand its longevity as well as his performance. As far as its performance goes right out of the box wonderful pressure to solve the problem of getting reverse osmosis water to flow out of my refrigerators water dispenser and ice maker. But shortly after that maybe less than a month, it was getting noticeably weaker on the pump although the motor seem to keep up the same RPM. And now after 4 months the pump itself, not the motor but the pump simply won't create any pressure, which triggers the pressure switch and the unit just keeps spinning and spinning and spinning. To make things worse it started to leak where the pump is mated to the motor, close up photo showing the joint included, see photo. So that was almost a hundred bucks for 4 months of use, keeping in mind the pump probably turned on for 30 seconds four times a day. Time to find an alternative remedy.
