Its a lot smaller than I expected but it is a lot more. Somewhat compact as the "blades" fold out to either maximize the illumination or gather the sun's rays to recharge itself. The small light button offers three lighting options, low, high and blinking. This thing gives off good lighting. It has a small stowaway hook on the top also. Charging can be done by just leaving it out in the sun with its own solar panels or via a Micro USB port . This is great for camping both inside and outside of the tent. When not used for camping, I leave it out by the back porch. Its been raining here in Northern California for several weeks now and this thing is still holding up. Its been a life saver several times when we had some power outages lately due to the storms.

Much smaller than what I expected.

I bought this as a stocking stuffer for my wife, who loves camping. We can tell this is going to be a great addition to the camping kit. We can fully charge it before we leave, then use the solar panels to keep it charged while we're out and about. It's very bright, and quite compact when folded in on itself - about the size of an Arizona Ice Tea can if you're familiar with that reference. The only problem I can see with it is the hook to hang it. It's very weak, and almost certain to break.

I can not speak to the performance of the solar panels but the main thing -- the hook that you suppose to use to hang it on is very weak. Who designed this thing? Horrible, horrible oversight.

These are fabulous! They are the perfect size folded and open. Love the brightness and three modes. Great as a portable light source for those odd corners and out of reach dark places in a home or garage as well. We use this on a daily basis. Definitely purchasing more.

Love the light, but it could be improved. I liked this light so much that I purchased a second one. It is simple and easy to use, and throws out some pretty good light. It is slightly larger than I anticipated, but not a big deal.I haven't used them a whole lot yet since they are pretty new, but the first thing I noticed is that there is no way to read the charge level. I do like that there is little red LED that informs you when it is charging (via cord or solar), but it doesn't appear to be able to inform me if it has a full charge or not.Another suggestion would be to add a red light option to save night vision. Even better would be to add a second switch on the flat portion to make it obvious that you are not going to activate the white light and ruin your, or anybody else's night vision. Flat = red, Point = white.

Have not taken it camping yet but did a test in bedroom. I left it on high while I read on my Kindle. The light has three settings of high, low and flashing. On the high setting the light lasted at least two hours. Not bad in my opinion for solar. The four star rating was for the hook. I don't think it will hold up to camping riggers. If the hook breaks it will be difficult to hang overhead. Otherwise, I found it to be a nice design and ordered another one that was on sale.

Better than expected much brighter than anticipated love the lights and settings esp the emergency roadside assistance light setting .Very useful worth every penny also great for power outages
