I thought DIxie Fry was lost to history. Low and behold it's still available on Amazon. This is a key part to my Southern grandma's Southern Fried Chicken recipe that puts any other to shame. Now I can recreate that recipe. RIP, Grammie.

I remember Dixie Fry from when I was a kid, but it's not in the stores around here. I was glad to find it on Amazon, and it's as good as I remember.Dixie Fry is what other products wish that they could grow up to become.It is a seasoning, not an overpowering spackle coat. I used it with (thawed) boneless, skinless chicken breasts -- just two tablespoons of oil and 20 minutes in the frying pan. The leftovers brought a new taste to Asian fried rice! I can't wait to try it with "traditional" frying chicken.

I've been using this for years, always like it. I used to buy it a box at a time. My grocery store chain stopped carrying it, so I now buy it in bulk. Amazon has it at a good price and gets it to me quickly.

I'm 88 yrs. old. I use this because my mother used it for years, so that will tell you how long we have used Dixie Fry. It's the best coating to fry chicken with. I coat it, sprinkle it with garlic salt, brown it and then let it simmer covered for a little over an hour. You'll find it absolutely delicious and will fall off the bone. Super easy.

I usually get Dixie Fry at a local Safeway but it seems like this year they are all out-of-stock. I only really needed one box at the moment for making turkey gravy but decided I could save one box for later. Both boxes expire 8/2026. Delivery was next day.Side note: I've been using Dixie Fry for decades. It seems like about 10-15 years ago that they changed the recipe / ingredients as it became peppery. At least that's the way I remember it.

This is something my granny use to fry the best food with !! The batter is flavorful, and you do not have to really season your meat. A must but n try!!
