If you're in a country that uses 220-240, make sure you switch the back switch to input 220 BEFORE you plug in your appliances. You will blow the fuse. Luckily, it comes with extra. I bought two of these for my American hair/sewing machines to use in Korea and they both work great.

I needed to provide no more than 200W at 220V to a European bed motor (for adjusting head and leg positions). I'd expected to find a transformer a bit more compact, but nothing on Amazon was significantly smaller than this one. It's working fine.

I purchased the power converter to use with European audio equipment. It works beautifully and is easy to use. Equally important it is quiet, producing no background noise.

Wife bought a Phillips European espresso machine with 2230V plug. Even with 110V adapter, it wouldn't turn on. Bought this unit, which worked until you try to set up the burning, the fuse trips every time and we're out of business. Not sure I would have wanted this bulky beast on the countertop anyway.

I bought some Simpson refrigerators from England not think of the difference in plugs. After some research I bought this so I could plug them in and use them. This transformer is silent and works perfectly. I now have a very unique bar fridge.

This transformer sure steps up the voltage (I can't speak to the step-down feature as I live in the US), but it steps it up way too much. I bought this to use for some 90s European 230V spec audio equipment. I used it on one for over a year, just assuming it was fine - big mistake. I just purchased a second one for a new piece of equipment and figured I might as well use my multimeter to see what it puts out. I wish I'd done this on the first one because it turns out it steps the voltage up to 263V! Most 230V stuff is spec'd for 220-240V but 260V is not good. The max I'd want to use it at is 250V. If your outlet is putting out 110V it may be alright but at 120V, not a good idea unless it's something easily replaceable.

Boy this Amazon is the bees knees for sure. This particular unit jumped right off my screen. it’s very simple and straightforward and I’ll even go so far as to say it looks really smart sitting there on my shelf. And quiet too.
