Let me start by saying, I understand there is some degree of chance involved in these boxes. That being said, the exciting ‘Icons of the realm’ I received? An archer with a face that could have been better painted blind drunk, a gnome mind flayer so small that any detail may as well have been skipped, a single kobold, and the large mini? A reindeer, not one of the white antlered reindeer from the art work, nothing distinct about it at all, just a reindeer with misshapen antlers. Honestly with the exception of the mind flayer there isn’t anything in this selection that stands out as iconic to icewind dale. Very disappointed.

None of the minis were their ones on the box. I don’t know it’s supposed to be a crap shoot to see what you get… I thought I was getting a yeti and I got a wolf that I could have bought at the dollar store.

This set of minis is meant to go along with the published adventure for the Dungeons and Dragons game, and because that one has strong elements of winter and wilderness survival, you get a lot of animals in this one which you don't get a lot. also, the series has new applications as with Goliaths now being a core race, the goliaths have more use among players at the table. Also, I just like tundra and taiga adventurigng and they have everything you need for that, including sled dogs and reindeer.

Bought one in hopes of getting a mammoth and luckily I did. It's a bit of a gamble, but in the end I'd probably use any miniature I got. The paint job isn't perfect but it's good enough.
