The quality is solid, and it provides good protection against flying bits of hot metal. I first used it while metal sanding with a grinder, and despite the cold weather, I wore just a t-shirt underneath and stayed warm. One thing to note—when it’s brand new, there are some flaky bits of leather on the inside that will get all over your clothes. Personally, I don’t mind since I expect to get dirty and wash up after working anyway. But if that’s a dealbreaker for you, wear older clothes or consider a different apron.
