The outer core is solid with no slit.

They come in various lengths. This brand is very nice and quite sturdy too. The length of these are 52 inches for each noodle which is a total 7.2 feet. I bought these and cut them to fit inside my tall boots to keep the, upright in my closet. They were easy to cute, my boots are standing up now and not falling over. Great product with multi use.

Has anyone used these noodles for covering springs on a trampoline??

I use it to cover edges on various furniture peaces in todler room ( mostly book shelves). On the brown furniture it does not create to much contrast and I use semi permanent carpet tape that has thread throughout ( only put 3×2 inch square peaces of tape in couple spots to work) That tape holds well and is little harder to take off, but so far I managed to remove it from were we didn't need it anymore without damaging furniture.
