If i place the base tight agaisnt the wall, will i still be able to swivel the tv left and right?

No, you will only be able to turn in the space that the base gives between the wall and edge of base. Which, I believe will be about 1 or 2 inches.

Best tv stand ever

Didn’t want to spend the money to wall mount my tv so I got this tv stand and it is great. Very sturdy and was easy to assemble. It turns so there are many viewing angles and able to move around to another room if I want to…very happy with this purchase.
