Pure Goodness Wet Dog Food, Duck & Turkey, 13 oz, 12 Pack

I was buying canned dog food on Chewy and was getting a dozen severely dented cans Every. Single. Time. I finally started ordering through Amazon, and that has all changed. I am happy to not have to send orders back or hassle with dented cans. Canidae is good quality food, which was suggested to my 20 years ago by the breeder of my first dog. Now that dog has passed on at the age of almost 15, but I have two other dogs (same breed) who benefit from the original advice of that breeder. Canidae is the only food I give to my dogs.

At first I tried this because of the price and free shipping. I had never heard of it before. My 11 dogs love this so I say it is great! The tiny ones (toy poodles) get the almost straight food. The others get this mixed with their Bil-Jac. I am impressed with the ingredients. Not full of corn! Another thing I noticed... Every time I have fed my dogs any brand of straight canned dog food, with the exception of Science Diet, they had diarrhea. Not with this one. Not even one of them had it. That's a good thing. I ordered two more cases and will continue. The price is reasonable too and free shipping with Amazon Prime or free shipping with purchase over 25.00.The only fault I could find, in my opinion, is that the product has lamb. I won't eat lamb and have never before bought any dog food with lamb or veal in it. I do not like the way the animals are treated and lambs are sweet, baby cuddly things. It makes me sad. Unfortunately, this company uses lamb in most everything for some reason. I have never seen this before in a dog food product. They might have one or two items with lamb, but not most all. They do have the chicken and rice without lamb. Regardless, at this time , I plan on ordering this dog food monthly for my dogs as they love it so much and other than lamb, I am impressed with the ingredients.

Was a good brand, my dogs did not care for the pate texture. Had to purchase something else.

The latest addition to my family would not eat her puppy food. She wanted whatever her 8 year old brother was having and would steal the food from his bowl. Our vet recommended us mixing dry food with wet food for all life stages and that's how we found the Canidae brand. I like the variety of flavors, as my picky eaters get bored of one flavor so I have to switch things up often. Now I don't need to worry about them eating out of each other's bowls since they eat the same food!

DO NOT FEED THIS TO YOUR DOG! There's something horribly wrong with it! I'd previously bought the same salmon/sweet potato Canidae food at my local pet store, trying to find a salmon based food for my dog who has food sensitivities. We had nine cans of it, and my dog liked it and was doing well on it. When we were getting low on it, I ordered more from Amazon. The first can I opened from the new case did not look the same as what we bought locally, didn't smell the same, and had a different texture. I checked the expiration date, and the food was not expired. At that point I incorrectly assumed that Canidae had reformulated their recipe, and I fed some of the new food to my dog. Unfortunately she became ill and vomited several times throughout the day. This food has either gone bad, or they've put the wrong product in the cans. I don't know if it's spoiled, or perhaps if it's a different flavor, but either way, Canidae's quality control is very poor. After my dog vomited the first time, I came back to the Amazon website to see if other's had a problem with this food, and saw other reviews stating that their order of dog food also looked and smelled different. Please read all the reviews to understand that my problem with this food is not unique. There's definitely something wrong with this and it should not be fed to your pet!I called Canidae to report the problem and request a refund. Based on the barrage of questions they asked me, it seemed that they wanted to blame me for letting my dog eat something else (she hadn't eaten anything else), and deny that there was a problem with their food. I let them know that there were similar reviews here on Amazon, and that they should be aware of a serious, perhaps life threatening problem with their food. As for my refund request, they denied it and offered me a coupon to buy more food. I had to escalate my request to a manager who also could not provide me with a refund. I gave Canidae a try, but this problem is just too severe for me to trust them with the health of my dog again. I will never buy Canidae again, and a coupon is worthless to me. Fortunately, Amazon made an exception to their policy of not accepting returns on dog food, and refunded my money. Even more importantly, my dog seems to be feeling a bit better today. Please don't buy this food for your dog. It should be recalled, but probably won't be. It's not fit for consumption!

Both my dogs, in the past, have loved Canidae Pure Lamb. Now they’re not so much.I saw the manufacturer has changed the label and I had to make sure I received the right dog food. It turns out the recipe has changed. The texture is coarser than before, it has a distinctly fishy smell thanks to salmon oil, and it’s 20% higher in calories. One dog doesn’t care about change (though she’s not happy about getting less food), the other dogs is definitely NOT a fan. He’s got a more sensitive tummy, which is why we spend extra for the CANIDAE Pure. But, his tummy hasn’t reacted well to the new formula.Your dog may or may not mind, but you should know that the recipe is different. Maybe buy less and test it out.Update: Both dogs got diarrhea from the new formula. Not because it's tainted, but it is different enough to shock the digestive system. We should have tapered them onto the new stuff with the old stuff. Definitely introduce the new formula slowly if your dogs have any kind of stomach issues.

We have 3 dogs. 1 of them has Bad allergies and this product is one of the few on the market that DOESNT have what she is allergic to.She has bad reactions to Poultry, Eggs, Dairy, and highest reaction to Flaxseed, which has been added to so much pet food now.1. They love the flavor, I was worried because they were eating Lamb for so long2. Each can so far has had a nice texture3. The smell doesnt bother me, but it is fishy.Happy to have as an option to give medication, and the others just love it.
