Brief
Interesting. Very brief history of humans in general tries to explore cultures and advances in mankind as a whole. Does not go in depth into the rise of humans one step at a time but explores humanity.

An important tool in learning about human history
Homo sapiens gives a quick overarching history of human kind. The book starts from our evolution from Australopithecus to present day.It is disheartening to read that with human expansion came the extinction of many animals and that possible genocide could be the reason Homo erectus and Homo neanderthals became extinct. We’ve been destructive since our beginnings. The book covers the evolution in being able to think in more abstract concepts, the development of agriculture, travel by foot and by sea, the development of writing and religion, use of currency, and capitalism, the development of science, the industrial revolution and the digital revolution. The book ends with a contemplation as to what the future holds. This was an incredibly insightful read, especially as we are living through such a meaningful time period right now. It is always helpful to study what has come before so we can better tackle the current issues.

Full of factual errors. I can't trust any other University Press products.
The first paragraph says, and I quote "Our species is thought to have evolved about 10,000 years ago." The conclusion says "Homo sapiens have been around for hundreds of thousands of years, and we were not the first ones in our class, just the latest one." Which one is it? Elsewhere the book avers that the first Homo sapiens reached Australia 450,000 years ago - this is absolutely wrong, by about a tenfold error. The writer also sometimes drops the final 's' from sapiens - this is not correct. He/she also refers to Homo neanderthals often and only uses the correct version neanderthalensis once. The book reads like my son's high school essay.1) I want my $2 back and 2) I will no longer consider offerings from University Press. I can't trust them.

Comprehensive and digestible
I found this short history about our species interesting and surprisingly comprehensive. All periods of the evolution are covered in a coherent manner. I will admit that this is not a topic that I am often very interred in. However, after reading this text I have developed a far greater interest. Therefore I can happily recommend the text to anyone whether this is your greatest passion or if you’re just curious.

Informative
The reading of the human race history was an enjoyable read because it discussed the different types of eras and revolutions that we have gone through as a species. It was interesting to revisit the ideas of cognitive learning and agricultural evolution. It made me think of how important it is to continue learning and explore, to expand our knowledge to further develop the evolution of the Human Species.

A synthetic and thrilling story on human kind
With an incredible simplicity but refined style, the book tells us in an orderly timeline on the principal facets of human development. From the naive features of hunters gatherers to the sophisticated time of spatial and digital technology.

Interesting Brief Historu
I really like the way the book gives a short summary of each phase of humankind. Even if it is short, it’s very informative.

Homo sapiens
Great read. I learned a great deal about our very beginnings as a human race.

Truly terrible
Very thin and very large type. Probably written by a 7 yo. I tore it up (not difficult, it’s very thin) after reading and threw it in the bin.

Concise, Informative and Interesting
I really enjoyed reading this book as there are some great insights into mankind's progress since Homo Sapiens first walked this Earth. It was not heavy going but still informative, also the spelling and grammar was excellent.
